The highly anticipated in-game mechanism which would have allowed creators to create a gaming experience based on Unreal Engine in Fortnite has reportedly been delayed yet again. Unreal Editor for Fortnite was expected to be launched in December 2022 but was delayed by 1 and a half months up till late January 2023, and is now again set to be delayed up until March 2023, as tweeted by Tim Sweeney.

It is no surprise that graphics are equally important in a game as compared to the storyline and with the arrival of UEFN the developers are aiming towards solidifying the graphics department of the game, the new editor was focused on adding fresh new content to the game while maintaining the old school chaos the game has to offer.
The Unreal Editor for Fortnite will add much more to the game rather than just improved graphics, it will add freedom which is necessary for a game to live past its age, as developers have literally no means of staying up to date with the ever-changing industry and fans’ demands.
Games like Skyrim and Minecraft have survived their age of time and have managed to stay relevant to this date because of the modding and new content the community keeps on pumping into the game on a regular basis. The same is the aim with this Unreal Editor for Fortnite, it will allow players to design unique 3D modes, animations, scripting, and other elements for their Creative maps, thus adding new playable content for players to access in the game.
On December 15th, 2022, Epic Games held a yearly recap that was set to show a live demo of Unreal Editor but due to technical difficulties, they were unable to do so. He then also stated that it is still uncertain if the editor will be available by January, however with the latest tweet he confirmed that the editor will miss the deadline and will be expected to be released by March 2023.
