Garena announces Free Fire Bangladesh Championship (FFBC) 2021

Free Fire is a very popular mobile game in the Battle Royale genre, especially in regions such as Brazil, India, Thailand, and other South Asian countries. The Esports environment is also clawing it’s way to the top in these regions. To further reinforce the prospects of interesting a lot of players into Free Fire eSports, Garena is coming up with a high profile official tournament, exclusively for the Bangladeshi players – Free Fire Bangladesh Championship (FFBC) with a prize pool of 2.5 Million BDT (~$30k).


Eligibility criteria

  1. Your Free Fire account should be on at least level 40.
  2. The in-game Battle Royale Rank should be at least on Diamond 1.
  3. You will need at least three others along with yourself to play in the open qualifiers.
  4. Only mobile players will be allowed to play. PC, emulator, and tablet users aren’t eligible to play.
  5. Last but not the least, this tournament is open to Bangladesh Nationals, only.

How to register for Free Fire Bangladesh Championship (FFBC) 2021?

The registrations for the Free Fire Bangladesh Championship (FFBC) kicks off on January 18th, 2021. If you are eligible, you can simply head to the FFC mode in-game to get your squad registered. The Registration will only be open to Bangladeshi nationals.


Free Fire Bangladesh Championship (FFBC): Format and Schedule

The Free Fire Bangladesh Championship (FFBC) will be divided into a total of five stages, with the top 12 teams making it to the Grand Finals:

1. Open Qualifiers

The top 48 teams will qualify from the FFBC Open Qualifiers which will be held on January 22, 2021. The Open Qualifiers will be a one-day event followed by the Closed Qualifiers.

2. Closed Qualifiers

The top 48 teams from the Open Qualifiers will fight it out in the Closed Qualifiers, lasting two days, from January 29, 2021 – January 30, 2021. The top 18 teams from Closed Qualifiers will move on to the League Season of FFBC.

3. League Season

The 18 teams from the Closed Qualifiers will be divided into three groups for the League Season. This stage will start on February 16, 2021, and conclude on March 4, 2021. The top 2 teams from each group, i.e. 6 teams will directly qualify for the Grand Finals. The matches from the League Season onwards will be streamed on the Free Fire Bangladesh YouTube channel.

4. Grand Finals Play-ins

The remaining 12 teams from League Season will battle it out in the Grand Finals Play-Ins on March 12, 2021. The top six teams from the Play-Ins will qualify for the Grand Finals.

5. Grand Finals

The Grand Finals will be played on March 19, 2021. 6 Matches will be played in the Grand Finals, featuring each of the 3 Maps in Free Fire twice. The team with the most points at the end of those six matches wins the Free Fire Bangladesh Championship title.


Free Fire Bangladesh Championship (FFBC) 2021: Points System

There are no changes being made to the points system for this tournament. Hence, the usual points system will prevail that governs all major Free Fire tournaments all over the world. Each kill secured will give 2 points. Total points will be calculated by combining your Kill Points as well as Placement Points. So, if you finish at 3rd place with 7 kills, your total points for that match will be 30 Points (16+7×2 = 30 Points).
