Coronavirus has majorly impacted the tech industry. The latest event to be moved online amidst coronavirus fears is the Tencent made PUBG Mobile Pro League 2020. Technology companies have either cancelled their future launch event or postponed them to a later day. Joining them now is PUBG Mobile Pro League 2020 which becomes an online-only event. In order to take precautions against the wide-spreading Coronavirus, this year’s PUBG MOBILE Pro League has been converted to an online-only event. The event will begin on the same date, i.e March 19.
Tencent Games sends out an official statement regarding the cancellation of the on-ground PUBG MOBILE Pro League event. The statement stated, “The health and safety of our players and staff are our first priority. Hence, we have decided to convert the PUBG Mobile Pro League 2020 an online-only event due to unforeseen circumstances related to the Coronavirus outbreak.
“The event will start from March 19, 2020 without the presence of our fan and audience as we take the well-being of our staff and players, as well as the public health very seriously. We adhere to all the guidance and recommended precautionary measures as we continue to welcome you to enjoy PUBG MOBILE”
While the PUBG Mobile Pro League 2020 becomes an online-only event and not being held on-ground, fans can still enjoy the matches at the comfort of their home via the live stream. PUBG Mobile Pro League 2020 will be live streaming the event via PUBG Mobile Esports YouTube channel. As mentioned above, the event is set to begin on March 19, 2020. The casting for these matches will most likely be done in multiple languages including English, Russian, Arabic, etc. Click here to watch the event online.

Tencent Games joins a growing list of tech companies who have been cancelling on-ground events and moving them online. While many launches have been moved to online events, some events have also been cancelled entirely or postponed. Recently, Google cancelled its biggest developers event, Google I/O 2020. Facebook’s F8 and Microsoft’s MVP Summit have also been called off. Also, Xiaomi is going to launch the Redmi Note 9 online in India tomorrow. Initially, the company was supposed to host an on-ground launch event in New Delhi.
