League of Legends: Wild Rift Lulu Guide: Best Build, Runes and Gameplay Tips

Yup, that tasted purple!

Lulu is the newest champion and the first one to debut after Patch 2.0 during the Yordles event. Though she was ignored in the cinematic video launch of League of Legends: Wild Rift, she carries some fancy skills to the battlefield. Lulu is an enchanter Yordler, who uses illustration magic to manipulate the battlefield and enemy consciousness. With this skill set, she is defined as a moderately difficult champion to play. In this guide, we will take a look at the best runes, spell, build, including tips and tricks to pave your way to victory with Lulu in League of Legends Wild Rift.

We have previously discussed how to master playing with other LoL Wild Rift heroes like Amumu, Master Yi, Jinx, Braum, Dr.Mundo, Akali, Yasuo, Singed, Jax, Darius, Kennen, Tristana, Varus and Ashe. So make sure to check these hero guides as well. For now, let’s focus on Lulu, the Fae Sorceress.

Skill analysis

Lulu is a hero with the common five skill sets of one passive and four actives. In this Lulu guide, let’s see what are her abilities in LoL Wild Rift, and when you can use which skill to get the best out of her.

Passive – Pix, Faerie Companion

passive

INNATE: Lulu is assisted by Pix, a faerie, who fires a barrage of 3 bolts towards Lulu’s target when she uses a basic attack on-attack. Each bolt deals 5−39 (based on level) (+ 5% AP) magic damage to Lulu’s attack target or to the first enemy they collide with, for a total of 15 − 117 (based on level) (+ 15% AP) magic damage on hitting a single enemy with all three bolts. Casting Help, Pix! on an ally champion transfers Pix’s help to them, causing him to fire the bolts dependent on their basic attacks. Pix returns to Lulu’s side if the unit he’s attached to exceeds her leash range.

Skill 1 – Glitterlance

skill 1

Lulu and Pix each fire a magic bolt towards the target point, each one dealing magic damage, reduced to 70% against minions, and slowing them by 80%, decaying over 2 seconds.

If an enemy is damaged by both bolts, they take 25% bonus damage, and the duration of the slow is refreshed. The skill is a little difficult to execute but when used effectively can have a significant effect. It is a soft crowd control skill, where correct execution can slow the enemies by 80%, which is huge. The skill can be used against multiple enemies but only when you are proficient enough with Lulu.

Skill 2 – Whimsy

skill 2
  • Enemy Cast: Lulu launches a spell on the target enemy champion, polymorphing them into a harmless critter for a duration, during which their base movement speed is reduced by 60, and disarming them for the same duration.
  • Ally Cast: Lulu instantly casts erratic magic upon the target ally champion or herself, giving the target bonus attack speed and  30% (+ 5% per 100 AP) bonus movement speed for the next few seconds.

Whimsy can attack enemies as well as boost ally champions. The skill is more effective in a Crowd Control scenario where the enemy is polymorphed and unable to attack or move freely. But, the skill can give a major boost to your ADC champions, increasing their damage significantly.

Skill 3 – Help, Pix!

skill 3
  • Enemy Cast: Lulu sends Pix to the target enemy for 4 seconds, dealing magic damage and revealing them for the same duration.
  • Ally Cast: Lulu sends Pix to the target ally for 6 seconds, shielding them for 2.5 seconds if they are a champion.

Pix is yet again both offensive and also has a defensive skill. It can shield your allies in tight situations. And it can also deal damage to enemy champions, revealing them. The skill is pretty useful considering the effect it has and makes Lulu ultimate support. The support build is entirely dependent or due to this skill of Lulu.

Skill 4 – Wild Growth

skill 4

Lulu enlarges the target allied champion or herself for 7 seconds, granting them bonus health, 40% increased size, and an aura that slows nearby enemies for the duration. On-activation, nearby enemies around the target are also knocked up for 0.75 seconds.

The slow persists for 0.25 seconds after the enemy leaves range or Wild Growth ends. The skill can is a blessing for team fight and crowd control. The skill can be used right after an initiation of fight by an ally champion. The enemies would all be slowed and ally champion will get health boost.

Skill Up Methods for Lulu

  • For support role, upgrade the 3rd skill, then 2nd skill, and lastly the 1st skill.
  • For lane role, upgrade the 1st skill, then 3rd skill, and lastly the 2nd skill.

League of Legends: Wild Rift Lulu Gameplay Tips

As mentioned above Lulu is a Support, usually played in Dragon Lane. With her abilities and skillsets, Lulu is better played as a solo laner or team fight champ. The Wild Rift’s map is a mirror so understand the map side before laning. According to her gameplay, we can break it down into three phases. Our League of Legends: Wild Rift Lulu guide includes the perfect game plan for the early, mid, and late game.

Early Game

Lulu is very strong, rather very good with skill attack but she doesn’t have durability. Even when you are supporting or laning, never go ahead of your minions. Always stay with your guard up when playing Lulu because in the early game you don’t have all your skills unlocked, so have patience while playing her.

One of the major issues you may face is the huge depleting mana when skills are used aggressively. In the early game, try to boost your ADC to get kills and level up fast. But when you are laning, then try to slow the enemies rather than getting kills.

Mid Game

In mid-game, Lulu is very much effective with great roaming attributes. She can just take part in any team fights and either restricts the enemy champions or boost ally champions. It is always advised to boost ADC due to the high damage they carry and it has been found that boosting a single ally is better than boosting everyone in the team.

Lulu can also be very helpful during the dragon takedowns, restricting enemies with her polymorph skill or boosting skills. She can help reveal enemies and prevent them from stealing drags.

Late Game

In late game, Lulu is all about supporting your team with the amazing crowd control skills. The continuous AoE effect and slowing down, will give enough time for the ADC to takedown the enemy champions.

The good mobility helps a lot to cover the map entirely and make her the ultimate support material on the battlefield. Additionally, you can perform specific skill combos like this to gain an upper hand.

Final Thoughts

Lulu is definitely an S tier support champion with the skills she has to offer. Every skill is an boost to ally and debuffs for the enemy champions. The mobility and poking ability is overwhelming to watch through the battlefield. When played with perfection, she is would be a nightmare for the enemies. She is definitely be going to be a blind pick in the ranked season. When playing Duo matches, an ADC partner would be a lethal combination in the battlefield, ensuring a easy win.
