League of Legends: Wild Rift Teemo Guide: Best Build, Runes and Gameplay Tips

I'll scout ahead!

League of Legends: Wild Rift’s Teemo is a Ranged hero commonly played in Baron Lane. Teemo is a Marksman/Mage type champion that deals high magic damage. When playing Teemo in the Baron lane, we can rank him as an A-tier pick and easy to play champion. Teemo has a quality of damage, movement speed, and escape mechanism in the early stage, so instead of Baron lane, you can also play Teemo as a Jungler/ Mid Laner mage/ Dragon Laner ADC too. But, it totally depends upon the team composition. In this guide, we will take a look at the best runes, spell, build, including tips and tricks to pave your way to victory with Teemo in League of Legends Wild Rift.

We have previously discussed how to master playing with other LoL Wild Rift heroes like Amumu, Master Yi, Jinx, Braum, Dr.Mundo, Akali, Yasuo, Singed, Jax, Darius, Kennen, Tristana, Varus, Ashe, Lulu, Miss Fortune and Blitzcrank. So make sure to check these hero guides as well. For now, let’s focus on this guide of Teemo.

Skill Analysis

Teemo is a champion with the common five skill sets of one passive and four actives. In this Teemo guide, let’s see what are his abilities in LoL Wild rift, and when you can use which skill to get the best out of him.

Passive – Toxic Shot

Teemo’s passive makes him deal 8 bonus magic damage on each hit and also over time for 4 seconds while dealing 7 amount of magic damage. Try to build Ability Power items on Teemo, because of those items, Teemo’s passive will be enhanced.

Skill 1 – Blinding Dart (Blind)

Teemo releases a dart that blinds the target for the next 1.25/1.5/1.75/2 seconds while dealing 70/120/170/220 amount of magic damage. It is an anti-gank ability in the team fight. Blind the target carefully cause blinding means that the enemy will not able to do any basic attacks. Teemo is vulnerable against those kinds of heroes who do not rely on their basic attacks.

Skill 2 – Move Quick (Buff)

  • Passive: Teemo’s second ability gives him 10%/15%/20%/25% movement speed passively. Teemo will lose his movement speed buff if he gets hit by an enemy or a turret and it requires 5 seconds to charge this passive again if you have lost it.
  • Active: Upon casting this skill, Teemo will dash in the designated direction while getting a 20%/30%/40%/50% movement speed bonus for the next 3 seconds. This movement speed buff will not be removed if Teemo takes any kind of damage. You can use it as an escape tool or chase dot life enemies.

Skill 3 – Guerrilla Warfare (Camouflage)

Upon pressing this skill after a short delay, Teemo will enter into the camouflaged state and became invisible, but he can get revealed if an enemy hero is within Teemo’s radius. When an exclamatory mark(!) pops up on your head, that means the enemy can actually see you. This invisible state will end atomically if Teemo is moving outside the brush for more than 3 seconds.

When this Camouflage state ends, Teemo will gain 30%/40%/50%/60% Attack Speed for the next 3 seconds.

Note: The camouflage effect will not end when you are inside the brush.

Skill 4 – Noxious Trap (Damage, Vision)

Another Anti-gank skill for Teemo, planting these mushrooms on the battlefield will give you control all over the map. It’s like mini wards with damage abilities. Upon detonation, it deals 100/150/200 magic damage and also over time for 3 seconds, while dealing 150/225/300 amount of bonus magic damage, within the trap, enemies will be slowed by 60%.

Traps can be stacked up to 5 times which takes 1 second to detonate, where it lasts 120 seconds in the placed area. They can be destroyed by enemy champions if they are visible during the plant. Traps can bounce(capped at 5) during the plant if a thrown trap lands on another trap.

Skill up Methods for Teemo

Level up Blinding Dart(skill 1) at level 1, and then you will continue levelling Blinding Dart until it’s maxed. After that, you can start levelling up Guerrilla Warfare(skill 3) followed by Move Quick(skill 2). Noxious Trap (Ultimate) whenever available.

Best Runes Setup and Spells for Teemo in League of Legends: Wild Rift

Runes Setup

Electrocute

Hitting a champion with 3 separate attacks or abilities in 3 seconds deals bonus adaptive damage. Teemo’s early game damage is relatively strong and has to depend on auto attacks to deal more damage. So Electrocute is perfect for him as it gives an early burst for ability focused champions, allowing him to trade with his opposing laners.

Brutal

Gain 7 Attack Damage and 2% armour penetration or else 14 Ability Power and 2% magic penetration. Ability Power or Penetration damage will help him to deal more damage in the early phase.

Backbone

Gain 10 Armor or 10 Magic Resist based on whichever stat you have less of, this will help Teemo to participate in the team fight.

Hunter – Genius

Gain 2.5 Ability Haste. Unique champion takedowns grant 2.5 Ability Haste. As Teemo’s Ability Haste helps to refresh his skill rotation, allowing him to reset and deal more damage during the laning phase and during team fights.

Battle Spells

Flash

Teemo is a very fragile champion in the early phase, so he can not escape from a tricky situation. Flash is very essential for Teemo, which will help him to teleport a short distance in a designated direction, to escape death or to snatch a kill.

Ignite

Since Teemo deals magical damage as a ranged hero, so along with his overtime damage, Ignite spell will work properly during a team fight to secure kills.

League of Legends: Wild Rift Teemo Gameplay Tips

Teemo is a magic damage oriented champion played as the  ADR in Baron lane. You can play 1-2-2 rotation in the early phase then you can easily switch your lane to join the team fight. You can also play in mid lane as a proper mage or else push Dragon lane with support. Basically, Teemo is a versatile laner. Our League of Legends: Wild Rift Teemo guide includes the perfect game plan for the early, mid, and late game in the game.

Early Game

In the early game, Teemo aims to play safe and focus on farming and trading. Make use of Teemo’s passive, to win trades against enemies. Often Baron Lane is occupied by a melee champion. Teemo has a range advantage over them, thus, should trade whenever the enemy oversteps for a farm. If there is no AP enemy hero in your lane then use your Skill 1 wisely to destroy the first turret.

Wild Rift Teemo Guide

You can also bait your enemies if your HP is low, like lure them to your turret then take the advantage of that turret, spam basic attacks and blind your enemy. You will get an easy kill.

Basic Attack+ Skill 2+ Skill 1+ Basic Attack+ Ignite

Mid Game

Mid Game (after building Nashor’s Tooth/ Liandry’s Torment), start roaming if you are unable to push. Use your Skill 3 and wait in the bush to gank the enemy’s carry. Do not engage yourself in unnecessary team fights. Try to place your mushrooms as your visionary wards that you can run towards trapped enemies to get that kill.

Skill 4+ Skill 3+ Skill 1+ Basic Attacks+ Skill 2+ Ignite+ Basic Attack+ Skill 4

Late Game

When the game reaches the late phase, it is where you have to look for an opportunity to kill the enemy’s damage dealer first. Do not engage in a fight with AP heroes as 1v1. Let your Tank/Fighter initiate first, then you can join the fight to wreck enemies. Placing your mushrooms are very important at this phase. Try to place mushrooms near Walls, Drake’s Pit and Baron’s Pit.

Final Thoughts

Teemo is very useful in laning and he can deal a lot of overtime damage which scales with his Exp level. Side by side Teemo is a little bit squishy in front of Assassins, so to avoid, gank skills are the key. With the above guide, you can easily practice Teemo in LoL Wild Rift, and before heading to play ranked matches, practice a little bit in the PVP mode.
