Legends of Runeterra (LOR) Patch 1.10 breakdown: All you need to know

Learn all about the Patch update!

Riot has unveiled what is in store for the next Legends of Runeterra (LOR) patch after the Patch 1.10 release. Patch 1.10 came out on September 16 as usual and will be the usual balance patch. In this article, we will go over the changes in Patch 1.10.

Champion balance changes

Ezreal

Legends of Runeterra Patch 1.10

Ezreal’s level-up condition goes from 8 to 10. This will make it harder for Ezreal decks to reach their win condition early, giving the opponent more time to fight back. It is unlikely that this will kill the card in the meta, only weaken it enough for other decks to hopefully pop up.

Lee Sin

Legends of Runeterra Patch 1.10

Lee Sin gets hit stats and mana cost reduced. This is overall a buff. Sacrificing 2 health to have 2 less mana is more than worth it. 4 health is still difficult to get rid of and Lee Sin can gain a barrier for added protection. This is great as Lee Sin as a 6 mana card was very wonky.

Additionally, Lee Sin’s signature spell will change to Sonic Wave instead of Dragon’s Rage. Another buff seeing as Dragon’s Rage isn’t a particularly good card and (ironically) doesn’t have as much synergy with Lee Sin as you’d think.

Followers and Spell changes

War Chefs

Legends of Runeterra Patch 1.10

It has been kind of an overdue nerf. War Chefs has seen consistent play for a long time now. This nerf should lower its offensive power in the popular (and powerful) deck MF Scouts.

Flash of Brilliance

Originally nerfed due to its power when combined with Heimerdinger. The nerf has now been reverted so the card can come back from the dead.

Overgrown Snapvine

Legends of Runeterra Patch 1.10

Usually regarded as a meme card. Hopefully, this buff can push it just enough that it could find a fun tier 3 deck – potentially even tier 2.

Crackshot Corsair

A nice buff to an underutilized card. A bit scary, however, since Bilgewater aggro decks aren’t in need of a buff (far from it).

Jagged Taskmaster

Legends of Runeterra Patch 1.10

Getting this plunder effect off earlier is a big deal. Once again, it’s a little odd that they are buffing these Bilgewater aggro cards, as Bilgewater aggro decks are thriving for the most part.

Yordle Grifter

Yordle Grifter’s second effect is getting added to the Allegiance requirement. This hurts a lot of decks, as well as this card. Some decks were running this card mostly for its Warning Shot. This nerf might hurt more than the developers intended.

Cygnus the Moonstalker

Legends of Runeterra Patch 1.10

This card has seen little to no play at all, so a buff isn’t surprising. A +1/+1 in stats is a decent buff. Having 3 health will make it significantly harder to remove and the 5 attack makes it more threatening. Hopefully, this card becomes that optional finisher in Nightfall decks.

Changes to Standard Gauntlet

Standard Gauntlet will now be similar to a tournament format. You start each Gauntlet by picking three different decks. These are the restrictions:

  • No champions duplicated between decks
  • Different region combinations for each deck
  • Maximum one champion-less deck

After queueing into a match, you will enter a pick & ban phase. You will choose one of three of your opponent’s decks and ban them, and they will do the same to you. Then you choose either of your decks that weren’t banned and fight your opponent in a single match. Every match will bring its own pick & ban phase.

Introduction of new Labs: Welcome to the Jungle

This Labs has got to be the most unique update to date! It’s inspired by the jungling gameplay from League of Legends. It’s also unique in the sense that it’s the first Labs where you can queue with your own created deck. Alternatively, you could queue with a random deck that the mode will provide, so don’t worry if you’re new to the game.

These are the rules of the Labs, provided by Riot:

  • Both players have Vulnerable, Immobile jungle monsters on their board.
  • Killing your opponent’s jungle monster grants you a powerful buff spell with your choice of potent effects.
  • Killing a jungle monster also spawns another in its place next round. Watch out—the new ones may be even stronger as the game goes on!

Cross-shard friend challenge

You can now challenge friends, regardless of which regional shard they play on.

These are all the major changes with this Legends of Runeterra (LOR) 1.10 patch! We will be getting patch 1.11 in two weeks. Riot mentioned that for that patch they will be focusing on Targon-specific balance changes. They teased some of these changes. They mentioned they would be making adjustments to the difficulty of Aurelion Sol’s level up requirement, adding escalation to Hush, and ”Grandfather Rumul giving more hugs”.
