Yi Sun-shin is a hero with the common four skill sets of one passive and three actives. In this Yi Sun-shin guide, let’s see what are his abilities in Mobile Legends, and when you can use which skill to get the best out of him.
Heavenly Vow
Yi Sun-shin’s passive, lets him use either his Glaive or Longbow on the battlefield. Yi Sun-shin uses his Longbow for ranged attack and while being near the target, he uses his Glaive. After each weapon swap, his next two basic attacks will be enhanced. The first attack deals 70 – 100 % critical damage and the second attack deals 55-70% critical damage to the target while the second attack also grants him 20% movement speed for the next 1 second. YSS’s enhanced attack reduces his skill 1 cool-down by a second. Whenever you use Yi Sun-shin, your base will be transformed into a naval fleet and after respawning or every 180 seconds later, a Turtle ship will spawn at the allied base. Yi Sun-shin can ride the turtle ship while gaining 60% movement speed which will decay after 6 seconds.
Skill 1 – Traceless (Blink, AoE)
CD- 12/ 11/ 10/ 9/ 8/ 7
MANA- 50/ 55/ 60/ 65/ 70/ 75
It helps Yi Sun-shin to slash forward with his Glaive while dealing 150/ 180/ 210/ 240/ 270/ 300 amount of damage along the path. He becomes immune to CC while dashing for 1 second.
Dauntless Fleet
While on the turtle ship, it has a different effect. Yi Sun-shin can launch the ship in the designated direction, upon being hit, it will explode and stun them for 1.2 seconds, while dealing 200/ 240/ 280/ 320/ 360/ 400 amount of physical damage.
Skill 2 – Blood Floods (AoE)
CD- 11
MANA- 85/ 90/ 95/100/ 105/ 110
This skill has 2 phases. One is charging and the other one is without charge. Without charging this skill, Yi Sun-shin slashes swiftly towards the target with his glaive while dealing 240/ 260/ 280/ 300/ 320/ 340 amount of physical damage.
When holding this skill, Yi Sun-shin charges up his longbow while having his movement speed reduced by 20% and then he shoots a powerful arrow towards the designated direction dealing 240/ 260/ 280/ 300/ 320/ 340 amount of physical damage.
Remember the damage scales with the time spent on charging ( capped at 200% ) and it decays with the number of enemies hit. Upon casting this skill, Yi Sun-shin will gain 2 enhance basic attacks from his passive instantly.
Skill 3 – Mountain Shocker (AoE)
CD- 80/ 70/ 60
MANA- 150/ 180/ 210
Passive
Yi Sun shin’s passive damage is increased by 10/ 5% / 20/ 10% / 30/15% each time, Mountain Shocker levels up. Upon casting this skill, Yi Sun-shin will launch 3 cannon attacks which will hit all the enemy heroes and reveal their location on the map. Yi Sun-shin’s each cannon strike will slow down the target by 20% for the next 2 seconds while dealing 150 / 180 / 210 amount of physical damage. Also, keep that in mind enemies hit by multiple cannon strikes can only receive a maximum of 150% damage.

Spells

You can also use Flicker to escape death, chase dot life enemies. Sometimes you can use Retribution too if you are using Yi Sun-shin’s as a Jungler(hyper carry).
Best Builds for Yi Sun-shin in Mobile Legends
You can try many builds on Yi Sun-shin. You can use this marksman’s hyper carry build to deal more damage to enemies. Start with the jungle knife and then build attack damage items to increase your damage ratio overtime. Try to focus on the items that grant you true physical damage.
Build 1
Here, We can see our first set of builds, containing 3 attack items which will amplify Yi Sun-shin’s main damage output. Endless Battle is a very important item for Yi Sun-shin. It can be considered one of his core items too because of its True Damage. It will help you to deal +65 Physical Attack, + 5% increased movement speed, +250 HP, +10% CDR and + 10% Physical Lifesteal and side by side, Blade of Despair will help Yi Sun-shin to deal more damage to an enemy who has less than 50% health, +160 Physical Attack and +5% movement speed.
Then, You can build Demon Hunter Sword, which will grant you +25% attack speed and +35 physical attack, not only that it’s unique passive: Devour will grant 3% physical lifesteal for each basic attack (can be stacked up to 5 times). The last item Queen’s Wings will grant Yi Sun-shin physical lifesteal, +15 Physical attack, +10% CDR plus +1000HP.

According to Yi Sun-shin’s skill casting abilities, we can categorize him as a moderately difficult to play type hero. He is very strong in team fights. However, a player must need a good understanding of the map to bring the best out of any hero.
Early Game
Buy a lower-grade jungle knife and take the red buff, in case you are the hyper carry in the game, take the blue buff too with the help of your Tank/support. Then go to the gold lane and take the gold crab. Don’t engage yourself in the unnecessary fights until you have reached level 4.
Switch your weapons wisely to enhance your attacks. Try to do the long-range and the short-range combos to deal extra critical damage to enemies. If your spell is Retribution, then focus on farming in this phase rather than killing champions. Switching weapons is best to be used when in combat against a melee enemy hero.
Mid Game
Repeat the early phase rotation and try to cut the minions wave between turrets to gather golds for trades. Whenever 2/3 heroes of your opponents are dead, try to secure the turtle and try to cast your ultimate before ganking to get a proper location of your enemies. Focus on building Blade of Despair in this phase. Do not hold lanes unnecessarily, it is not your main job. Instead of that, rotate with your tank to harass the enemy.
Late Game
In the late game, if Yi Sun-shin is fed, he can easily melt down any sustained heroes. But you should always gank with your team even if you’re fed. Being a marksman, you should always focus on going for the kill but never over-engage. When you see your tank and fighters are backing off, you should also back-off giving them the initial support.
Takedown the lord whenever possible and go for the victory. But always remember Yi Sun-shin is not like other Marksman which is used to carry out ranged attacks from a distance. You have to mix your skills to deal more critical damage with Glaive and Longbow respectively. So, know when to initiate and when to retreat.
