Mobile gaming in App or in Browser: Which experience is better

Which experience do you prefer?

Market researcher Newzoo forecasted earlier this year that the Mobile Games will generate a whopping $77.2 billion in 2020. The global games market will generate revenues of $159.3 billion and that’s approximately 50%. The massive difference that existed between mobile and pc gamers are now leveled. The analysis also forecasts that Out of the 2.7 billion total gamers projected to play in 2020, 2.6 billion will play on mobile devices. This is also evident from the fact that almost all the devs are trying hard to port their popular games to mobile. But there are some who want gamers to play using browsers. There comes a big question, which experience is better- mobile gaming in-app or in browser?

Mobile gaming, as we have mentioned before, is becoming popular day by day. The invention of mobile casinos remains one of the best innovations to hit the industry. Alongside other innovations like live casinos, the inventions have made betting on casino games such an enjoyable venture.

A few years back, before the establishment of mobile gaming, it would have been unimaginable to think there would come alternative modes of gaming that would replace the much coveted land-based casinos. Here is an overview of why mobile gaming is continuing to become famous.

Apps vs Browsers: Which is better?

Logically, when playing at the best mobile games sites, many people would expect native apps to deliver the best gaming performance. So, how does an in-app work? All gaming companies try to offer players a good mobile experience and performance. The same is the case for in-browser gaming, which makes it hard to determine which is better between the two. Using some important weighing factors, let’s try and see which option is better.

1. Functionality

Apps give developers more freedom regarding the functionality of a game. It’s easier for them to create more functional apps than it is to do the same for websites. What this means is that gamers playing through an app enjoy better functionality than those on a browser. For example, it is easy to develop push notifications and create other options with an app. Compared to websites, a lot of work and finances are needed to make them look as perfect as apps. This is one of the reasons why certain sites are striving to introduce mobile apps for their clients.

Now, current era mobile and tablet devices are better today than they were in the past, across the board. They are more advanced, featuring aspects like high refresh rates, large and highly sensitive screens, long battery life, and huge storage capacity. The enhanced nature of today’s smartphones and tablets makes smooth gaming possible when using apps. The saturation means that even non-techie players can enjoy gaming on their devices. Most devices have the power to handle even 3D games and in some even virtual and augmented reality.

2. Reliability

With an app, it is more inconvenient to start gaming since you have to download and install it on your phone. Many have it on the play store or app store while there are many games which you can download from their sites. The process can sometimes be cumbersome since some devices block the installation of apps from external sources. But you need to make sure that you have enough storage capacity to make the app run smoothly. With in-browser, you won’t encounter such problems. You just log in and start playing immediately.

3. Performance

During the last decade, many games were coded using Flash technology. Flash, unfortunately, was incompatible with the various mobile and tablet operating systems. This made loading games on these handheld devices impossible. The industry has since shifted to HTML5 from Flash, a technology capable of synchronizing games in a manner that they can load on mobile without experiencing technical errors.

Mobile apps will, in most cases, be faster and reliable than browsers. Still mobile gamers face problems while using apps because of bugs. This is the most important and crucial aspect for the companies as the app should be neat and clean if they want users to have better experience.

4. Saving Space

The biggest disadvantage of native apps like H1Z1 is that they can take up your phone space. If your device has limited space, you will have to play on the website. Accessing games on a website don’t require any phone space.

With an internet connection that is stable enough, you are all set to enjoy gaming on your mobile. Accessing your casino through a browser saves you the trouble of clearing some things from your phone to create some space or buying a phone with a bigger space.

Conclusion

When it comes to choosing which is better between playing through an app or browser, it all boils down to personal preferences. There is little difference between the two, and as we have seen, each has its equal share of benefits. The option you choose might be affected by the type of player you are and the type of genre of mobile gaming you like to play whether it is in-app or in the browser.
