Catch A Brainrot is basically Pokémon meets Gen Alpha meme chaos, and the internet is divided

Excited for one of the internet’s strangest Roblox adventures yet?

Story Highlights
  • Catch a Brainrot brings Pokémon-inspired brainrot creature collecting gameplay on Roblox on June 26, 2026.
  • The game features vibrant locations, bizarre meme creatures, chaotic internet humor, stunning visuals, and more.
  • Fans are praising the visuals while others are tired of nonstop brainrot culture.

Indieun, the dev behind hit Roblox experiences like YouTube Simulator X, is getting ready to launch Catch a Brainrot on June 26, 2026, and this might honestly be one of the most weirdly entertaining Roblox projects I’ve seen in recent times.

Get ready to capture the internet’s weirdest meme creatures

So, Catch a Brainrot blends Pokémon-inspired creature collecting with the chaotic brainrot meme culture that has completely taken over social media and Gen Alpha humor lately. Somehow, I’m finding it very cursed and also polished at the same time. And, at first, I honestly expected it to be another low-effort meme cash grab, but the environments, creature designs, and animations look very impressive for a Roblox game.

Now, the core gameplay revolves around exploring vibrant areas filled with bizarre AI-inspired meme creatures that roam around like wild Pokémon. And, you can capture them using suspiciously familiar-looking capture cubes, and then build your own chaotic collection of brainrot monsters. And, I can’t deny that the whole idea sounds very weird yet fun in the funniest possible ways.

I’m sure fans are going to love it, since there are so many meme references in the blocky worlds. One particular segment on the trailer even shows various brainrots, like Tung Tung Tung Sahur, in a room full of monitors. That said, I found it really intriguing how the internet has already split about the game.

Fans are praising, critics are arguing, and Nintendo might be watching

Many artists like zv_u are already praising the creativity and polish, especially for a brainrot title, while others show frustration as another Roblox game fully leaning into brainrot meme culture, arguing the platform is “constantly getting the same slop everywhere.” I personally don’t have any issue with it as long as the game is super fan but I do agree that it’s wasted talent on memes.

But the bigger question for me is how Nintendo and The Pokémon Company will react once they eventually notice it. I mean, they are very ruthless when it comes to similar-looking or same mechanics games as theirs, legally taking down those titles like Miraibo GO, Pocket Monster: Remake in China, and also the whole Nintendo and Pocketpair situation around Palworld. I believe Nintendo should stop coming after games and build better ones themselves to stop the competition.
