Sadly another mobile game is about to go down the drain, as Microsoft has evidently announced that Gears Pop! will no longer be available to play or download as of April 26th 2021. Recently it was announced that developers Rovio had scrapped the Angry Birds Tennis game before the game could even come out from soft-launch. Unlike the Angry Birds Tennis game that was instantly shut down and made unplayable, fans of Gears Pop! can still download and enjoy the game until the scheduled date of its annihilation from all respective App Stores. There are additional rewards coming in as well! Players can still level up their pins, make good and final use of any crystals they might still have in store.
The Gears Pop! devs’ message to the players
The devs bid farewell to all the players in a blog post on the game’s official website. They thanked the players for this wonderful journey and shared the plan for the future.
Thank you Gears! Together we have taken on countless waves of Horde and vanquished foes on the Versus battlefield but sadly Gears Pop! is closing on April 26, 2021. Until that time, we’re bringing back some of our most popular events, increasing Bounty rewards, and upping the drop rates for Legendary Pins. Effective immediately, in-app purchasing has also been disabled. Thank you for your understanding and support.

New events will be added and more rewards passed down
In order to celebrate all the good times they’ve had with the game to give players one last go of enjoying the game in full, they will be bringing back some cool events that took place during its short history.
Other than that, there are going to be increased Bounty rewards and the drop rates of Legendary Pins will be upped. Which means for some players, hopefully, they will be able to enjoy a high-level MOBA action before the game goes out of existence.
In-app purchases have been disabled in the game
Also, players will no longer be able to buy their way to the top as the makers have also disabled in-app purchases for the game. So if you’ve made any purchase within the past 90 days, then you’re in luck as you can still request for a refund.
Transactions that took place between July 30th and October 28th will be eligible for a refund. Immediately a refund request has been made, it will take apparently two to three weeks to be processed.
Why will Gears Pop! shut down?
The announcement of the game’s closure was made via a blog post from the game’s official webpage. The post stated it was not about keeping the servers active, but consistently improving all the aspects for making a game successful was not feasible from the makers’ point of view. The official statement read:
There are a number of things that go into maintaining a game beyond keeping servers active. Addressing issues, developing content, and providing support are critical in keeping a game running. Unfortunately, this is no longer feasible.

Gears Pop! remains available to download from the Google Play Store and App Store. It remains playable with NO IAPs as it has been disabled. The date of the shutdown, as of now, is set to be April 26th, 2021.
