Finnish game studio Metacore, previously known as Everywear Games, has today launched the discovery puzzle game Merge Mansion: Mystery Game. Merge Mansion is the first game released under Metacore’s new name and brand. Love, heritage, and betrayal put together in one mysterious puzzle are what Merge Mansion tells us about.

Supercell’s partnership with Metacore
The company, Metacore secured a €15 million investment and a €10 million credit line from Supercell to fuel the game’s global release. The launch of Merge Mansion coincides with the announcement of the company’s new name and brand. The name Metacore reflects the company’s focus on metagame development. According to the company CEO Mika Tammenkoski,
Our approach is to lead with the metagame – the core elements and experiences of a game that make a player jump back in over and over again. This was a key factor in how we designed Merge Mansion and will continue to define our approach to game development

Supercell has generated billions of dollars of revenue from a handful of games, and it is now owned by China’s Tencent. But Supercell is still a kind of godfather for gaming startups based in Finland, as it is investing heavily in smaller game startups to help grow the region’s representation in the worldwide game industry.
Supercell’s Developer Relations Lead Jaakko Harlas says. “We’ve supported Metacore since the beginning, and see a resemblance to the early days of Supercell”. Metacore’s teams have complete independence in their production, and Merge Mansion’s strong metrics are a testament to the great potential of the development strategy that they have chosen. Funded by Supercell, the company started in 2015 with a focus to bring chart-topping mobile experiences. And it has a promising start in their first game Merge Mansion, a casual puzzler, which formally launches today.
