Pokemon Masters July 29, 2020 Update: All you need to know

The latest Pokemon Masters July 2020 update just came out. It introduces a stamina system and changes to the Training Area, among other things. We will go over them here and explain how they work.

Stamina

Mobile games players shouldn’t be too unfamiliar with stamina systems. A few mobile Nintendo games have them and it is a generally common thing. It looks like for now only the Training Area will require stamina.

You gain 1 stamina every 6 minutes and it won’t replenish past its maximum limit. You can also replenish stamina with Gems. 40 Gems to be exact. It’s important to note that you will use non-paid Gems first. There is also a limit on how many times you can replenish stamina – up to 10 times per day. You can get stamina from rewards and the present box when available.

Skip Ticket

Another system we have seen in other mobile games. As the name says, it lets you skip a battle (only some battles allow this) straight to the reward screen. You will get the rewards and XP. You can also use as many skip tickets as you want at a time. Note that this will use up attempts and stamina as if you had played the battle normally.

Another thing to note is that you need to complete that battle with your current team in order to unlock the ability to skip it. Not only that, but no member can faint. It seems you have to prove you can beat the battle with that team before you can use Skip Tickets.

Player Rank

It’s basically a way to show how much you have played and how much experience you have as a trainer. You can increase your Player Rank by simply playing the game. Raising your Player Rank also increases your maximum Stamina.

Type Skills

This is an exciting new feature. Each Sync Pair now has a Type Skill. When two or more Sync Pairs of the same type are placed in a team, a Type Skill is activated, which buffs all members of the team.

It will now be more effective to form same-type teams. Note that Type Skills seem to activate in Single-Player only.

Training Area

The courses we’ve known for so long have now been replaced. Let’s go over them here:

 Training Area
  • Level-Up Area: Pretty self-explanatory. This is where you will gather Level-Up Manuals.
  • Cap-Unlock Area: Here you will find items to raise your Sync Pairs’ level caps.
  • Evolution Material Area: You can farm Evolution Shards and Evolution Crystals here. You can complete the Evolution Material Area up to 3 times per day.
  • Sync Orb Area: You can get Sync Orbs here. This Area can be completed up to 10 times per day. If you are a new player, you should know that you need to finish Chapter 2: A Friendly New Rival before this specific Area becomes available.

Move Candy Coin

You can exchange Move Candy Coins for 5 star Move Candy. There are four types of Move Candy Coins:

  • Move Candy Coin
  • Strike Move Candy Coin
  • Support Move Candy Coin
  • Tech Move Candy Coin.

Go to the Exchange Items (General) to see which 5-star Move Candy you can get.

Move Candy Coins can be obtained through event rewards.

Daily Gem Bundle

They have introduced Gem Bundles into the game. The first of which is simply called the Daily Gem Bundle. Upon purchase, it will give you 500 Gems and a Sync Orb Reward Boost. Additionally, you will receive 50 non-paid Gems and 10 Skip Tickets as a log-in bonus each day for 20 days.

Daily Gems

This is a total of 1500 Gems (500 Paid, 1000 Non-paid) and 200 Skip Tickets, along with a Sync Orb Boost that lasts 20 days. The Daily Gem Bundle is priced at $7.99.

You can purchase this bundle as many times as you want, but you can only purchase it again once the final log-in bonus (about 20 days after purchase) has been given to you.

Final Thoughts

The additions to the Training Area look quite interesting in the latest Pokemon Masters July 2020 Update. We’re personally enjoying it. The stamina system feels odd since for so long it wasn’t there. Do you mind the stamina system? DeNA has already said they’re open to feedback so let them know!
