After the big collaboration of PUBG Mobile and the Godzilla vs. Kong movie, it is reported that PUBG Mobile will add a mini-Godzilla and a mini-Kong as companions in the game, like the previously added falcon. These companions can be redeemed via special events or can be purchased from the shop. In this article, we are going to discuss the arrival of Godzilla and Kong as in-game companions in PUBG Mobile.
What are companions in PUBG Mobile?
Companion is a feature that was added to PUBG Mobile permanently in November 2019. This feature allows players to have a pet and bring it into the battle with them. The only companion that is available in the game right now is the Falcon. After equipping it whenever you join a battle, the companion will follow the players wherever they go. Normally, the companion will only sit on their shoulder for most of the time and occasionally do some flying animations, mostly in the lobby.
Only the owner of the companion can see their falcon, therefore the enemies will not get any advantage. Companions can perform multiple emotes in the lobby. Players will get a permanent title named the ‘Star Trainer‘ after maxing out their companion’s level. The companion will never let the player feel alone on the battlefield. The maximum companion level is 7. This event was available for a limited time so the supply was limited for the players. Hence, this feature is great for showing off your companion with your teammates and friends.
About Godzilla vs Kong
Godzilla vs. Kong is a 2021 American monster film directed by Adam Wingard. It is a sequel to both Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019) and Kong: Skull Island (2017). The fourth film in Legendary’s MonsterVerse, Godzilla vs Kong is the 36th film in the Godzilla franchise and the 12th film in the King Kong franchise. This was the fourth Godzilla film to be completely produced by a Hollywood studio. After being delayed from a release date of November 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Godzilla vs. Kong was theatrically released internationally on March 24, 2021. Much like the prequel, this film has also made a collaboration with PUBG Mobile.
The PUBG Mobile x Godzilla vs Kong collaboration
Tencent Games had hosted a grand celebration party on the account of PUBG Mobile’s 3rd Anniversary on March 21st, 2021. During the party, PUBG Mobile had announced that ‘Two 100 meter tall mysterious visitors‘ are coming into the game. It was the hint of the upcoming collaboration of Godzilla vs. Kong movie and PUBG Mobile. These two alpha titans are currently roaming in the Erangel and Sanhok. Players can see the enraged Kong in Sanhok near the docks and Godzilla in Erangel near the Stalber hills.
There is also an exclusive game mode where players can use these monsters’ special abilities like a giant leap in the game. Recently from a leak, we have come to know that smaller versions of Kong and Godzilla are coming into the game as companions. Players will be able to claim them from completing special events or from the shop. The exact date of the release and the whole process is yet to be announced.
