The Witcher Game official Twitter handle has announced that a new location-based AR Witcher game, The Witcher: Monster Slayer will be making its way to Android & iOS devices this year. The game is developed by Spokko games, a subsidiary of CD PROJEKT. This news will come as a joy to the fans of the popular Netflix series, as they will get the chance to slay monsters all around, in the role of the ‘Witcher’ himself. A release date for The Witcher: Monster Slayer is yet to be confirmed, however, in the trailer, the makers stated that it’ll come ‘soon’ to mobile devices.

AR games have been hugely popular recently among mobile gamers, particularly with the success of Pokemon GO we can say AR has become a fan-favourite genre. In the new Witcher game, you will encounter some of the most gruesome beasts around you, mainly tracking, studying and fighting them. Each time you take up a new monster, it’ll be a new challenge for you!
You can use your favourable time of day and weather conditions to fight monsters, however, make sure you keep brewing powerful potions, oils, craft bombs and monster baits to take them down easily. As your opponents keep getting tougher and more powerful, you’ll also need to upgrade your character’s skills and equipment.

As mentioned earlier, there’s no official announcement regarding the release date of The Witcher: Monster Slayer on iOS & Android. However, the game is expected to launch later this year, after the global pandemic situation settles down a bit for actually playing and enjoying an AR game.
