Clash of Clans Builder Hall 8 Guide: Upgrade priorities, Best bases, Attack strategies, and more

Clash of Clans recently got a major update with the Builder Base 2.0 which has seen a great revamp of the builder base. The introduction of Builder Hall 10 has opened a lot of strategies and resources beneficial to keep the game interesting. Because of this, the strategies employed in lower Builder Hall levels have changed and need to be adapted well. So it’s advisable to think about it before upgrading to the next level, or else you’ll be confused. To avoid the same, this guide will address upgrade priorities, best bases, attack techniques, and more for Builder Hall Level 8 in Clash of Clans.

Introduction to Builder Hall 8

Builder Hall Level 8 is the eighth Builder Hall level in Clash of Clans. It was introduced in the game as part of the Builder Base update in May 2017. Builder Hall 8 brings new and extra defensive structures, troops, and buildings, allowing players to further expand and strengthen their Builder Base.

One of the notable additions at Builder Hall 8 is the Mega Tesla, a powerful defensive building that targets both ground and air units. To upgrade to Builder Hall 8, players need to accumulate a build cost of 2,800,000 Builder Gold. The capacity of the Builder Hall at this level reaches a maximum of 1,300,000 Builder Gold and Elixir.

Upgrade Priorities

To ensure a strong start and steady progress at Builder Hall 8 in Clash of Clans, it is crucial to carefully plan and set up your base. Building an effective base requires considering the essential upgrades for both your army composition and defense. To simplify the process for players, we present a basic upgrade priority guide, which outlines the recommended order for upgrading various elements of your base, making it easier for you to make informed decisions and progress efficiently.

1. Defense

Well, you must be sure of what our pick was going to be because there is no way you shall neglect the upgrading of defenses. Since the Mega Tesla is the only new unlock option available, it should be your first pick. The Mega Tesla, among defenses of the same level, ranks second in terms of damage dealt in the Builder Base, with the Crusher being the only defense surpassing it.

2. Builder Barracks

Power PEKKA, a new troop, worth the hype, is next up to unlock. This is mainly because of the attack strategies of the new Builder Hall level, and unlocking all the troops gives you more possible combinations. However, it should be followed with the Star Laboratory upgrade as soon as possible. Follow PEKKA upgrades with the Baby Dragon.

3. Star Laboratory

Giving the highest priority to upgrading the Laboratory is crucial in order to achieve optimal results by upgrading your troops. It is essential to focus on upgrading specific troops, with the four levels of Power PEKKA being the recommended choice for prioritization when it comes to defeating fully upgraded bases.

4. Storages and Collectors

For more upgrades, you need a lot of raids and to store them up, you need storage and collectors. Both Gold and Elixir storages have enough from the previous Builder Hall level to chip in for initial upgrades, but they shall need to be upgraded when you are pushing faster. Give one each an upgrade for Gold and Elixir, and then followed by another. Similar for collectors as well.

New Defense: Mega Tesla

The Mega Tesla is a defensive building in the Builder Base that becomes available at Builder Hall level 8. It utilizes chain lightning as its attack mechanism, allowing it to damage a primary target within its range. If possible, the lightning bolt will then arc toward a secondary target up to 3 tiles away, dealing 60% of the initial damage.

New Troop: Power P.E.K.K.A

The Power P.E.K.K.A is a Builder Base troop in Clash of Clans that becomes available when the Builder Barracks is upgraded to level 10 at Builder Hall level 8. It is a specialized version of the P.E.K.K.A., maintaining a single target, and possesses the unique ability called Overcharge.

This ability allows the Power P.E.K.K.A to execute an explosive leap, causing damage within a small area surrounding it. In the Builder Base 2.0 update, the Power P.E.K.K.A gained the ability to automatically trigger Overcharge upon its death, eliminating the need for manual activation. She has a movement speed of 1 and an attack speed of 1.8 seconds.

Attack Strategies

1. Power PEKKA + Raged Barbarian

Power PEKKA is undoubtedly one of the best troops out there after the recent update, and hence this has been one of the best and most widely employed attack techniques accessible currently. PEKKA is supported by Raged Barbarians which will help in keeping a great balance in the ground.

The combination of troops can be to your liking, you can pick a bomber to make way for the machine as well as the PEKKAs. Cannon Cart works brilliantly well behind a tank since it deals heavy damage to anything in front. Most of the players choose a PEKKA-heavy strategy followed by the Battle Machine, which comes across an easy 6-star attack.

2. Baby Dragon Cart

The second strategy is with the Baby Dragons paired with the Cannon Carts. With the recent update, the Baby Dragon acquired the powerful Fiery Sneeze ability, solidifying its status as one of the game’s top-tier troops.

Carts have also the mortar-like ability that will help to take out the high-damage air-targeting defenses. This strategy works pretty well

3. Drop Ship Minion combo

Those who have played the previous builder hall, before the update, might remember this strategy. Well, this works great this time around too.

The Minions are great at taking out ranged targets, while the Hero gets a good chunk of defense before the player could drop the Ships to the base. The two-stage attack strategy also works pretty decently which allows you to be flexible with the troop combination.
