It is now rumored that an official Fortnite movie by the entertainment division of Epic Games might actually be in the works. The Information has reported that Epic is reportedly looking into setting up an entertainment division focusing on “scripted video content” as it recovers from legal battles against Google and Apple.
Epic Games has made several hirings from Lucasfilm
Over the past year, Epic has hired multiple executives from Lucasfilm, the production company that has worked on the iconic and extremely popular Star Wars films. Some of the big names hired by Epic include Jason McGatlin, who is currently the Head of Special Projects at Epic and was formerly the VP of Physical Production at Lucasfilm.

McGatlin was also the Executive Producer of all the Star Wars games. Epic also got Lynn Bartsch, their head of Business Affairs, and Chris Furia, their vice president of Production Finance on board.
The game actually already has a storyline that’s been going on for multiple events, and considering that these big names have joined Epic with a lot of experience in making movies, an official feature-length movie on Fortnite definitely could be a possibility as insiders seem to be positive about it, and Fortnite already has had a lot of content related to Hollywood and pop culture.
As is with all rumors, though, hardly anything can be confirmed till Epic themselves make an official announcement. However, Fortnite as we all know has a very big and dedicated fan base which definitely would go crazy over a feature-length film that’s set in the game and has officially been made by Epic Games.
