Originally, Wanderer was expected to wield an Electro Vision, but he became playable with an Anemo Vision instead. His overall aesthetic also changed from purple to blue, white, and golden. One Genshin player noticed an interesting detail about the hat and shared it on the official Genshin Impact subreddit, where the post has already accumulated over 10.3k upvotes.

Wanderer enters the Windfavored State when his elemental skill is used. During this state, he hovers midair and his normal and charged attacks gain a special modifier. When Wanderer starts hovering, his oversized hat disappears and a circle appears behind him like an Anemo symbol in Genshin Impact.
Reddit user u/ssssss2s2 pointed out that the circle that Wanderer gains during Windfavored State have the same design as his hat when looked at from above. Which has the funny implication that he turns his hat into some kind of a weapon. Many Genshin players also took note of this fact and joked about it in the comments.
When Wanderer sprints during the hovering state, the circle splits into two and appears as something similar to jet engines on either side of him. The top comment jokes about how he burns his hat for propulsion force. When Wanderer exits the Windfavored State, the circle disappears and his hat reappears on his head. This further feeds into the conspiracy that he uses his hat as a weapon.
