Alanzq becomes the champion of Legends of Runeterra (LoR) World Championship 2021

An incredible battle of brains in the finals!

The Legends of Runeterra (LoR) World Championship 2021 comes to an end today with Polish player Mateusz “Alanzq” Jasiński wins the champion title by a 2-1 close win against Japanese player Yamato (やまと). With this win, Alanzq becomes the first-ever player to win the LoR World Championship.

Being the first-ever champion of Legends of Runeterra (LoR) World Championship 2021, Alanzq took a massive $40,000 home as the prize pool. This is not the first time the two finalists faced each other. They were in the same group C in the top 16 and met there. That was also a reflection of the final. Yamato won the first game but Alanzq made comeback in the last two to win.

Legends of Runeterra(LoR) World Championship 2021: How it went

The final was a “battle of brain” show between the two contenders. Yamato wins the first game and was dominating the second as well. But the LoR Gods wrote his fate differently. Alanzq got lucky with his make-it rain RNG along with Caitlyn’s Flashbomb traps. And, made a comeback in the second game to make the scoreline even.

In the third game, Yamato had the Parley open up the Sejuani active. But his fate was written in the final game between Yamato’s high synergy Sejuani Gangplank and Alanzq’s Sivir Akshan Demacia.

On the other side, the third-place determiner match was another incredible show between XxWhatAmIxX and Szychu where Szychu claimed third place.
