On October 19th, 2021, on the official Twitter handle of Arena of Valor, the much-awaited Arena of Valor International Championship 2021 was announced. As it is the 5th year anniversary of Arena of Valor, the AIC 2021 features a massive prize pool of $1,000,000 US dollars. The event was supposed to happen in 2020 but was called off due to the pandemic. Nevertheless, the championship is here and will be held completely virtually.

Arena of Valor is a Multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) developed by TiMi Studio Group and published by the Tencent Games for Android, iOS, and Nintendo Switch. The game has now grossed over $140 million in different countries. The game was launched on October 12th, 2016, gained immense popularity in 2017, and started hosting competitions at the national and international levels. Let’s take a look at all the necessary details regarding the championship such as prize pool, schedule, teams, and regions.

Arena of valor International Championship (AIC) 2021: Schedule

According to the official tweet of  Arena of Valor, the event will a month-long from November 27th to December 19th in the year 2021. The championship will take place in four stages. The schedule is as follows:

  • Group Stage: November 27th to December 5th
  • Quarter Final: December 9th to December 12th
  • Semi Final: December 17th to December 18th
  • Final: December 19th

Teams and regions

According to the official tweet, there will be a total of 14 teams from 8 different regions. Arena of Valor betting is closed for this tournament, hence the different teams will battle in the different leagues to be among the top 14 teams. The competitors at the AIC 2021 from different regions will be :

  • Garena Challenge Series (Taiwan) : 3 teams
  • Arena of Glory(Vietnam) : 3 teams
  • RoV Pro League (Thailand) : 3 teams
  • AOV Star League(Indonesia) : 1 team
  • Malaysia, Singapore, Phillipines : 1 team
  • China, Korea and Japan: 1 team each

Arena of Valor International Championship (AIC) 2021: Prize pool

The prize pool for this year’s Arena of Valor International Championship (AIC) 2021 is 1 million US Dollars which is twice the amount from last year. There will also be individual awards such as MVP and best line-ups including DS Lane, Mid, Jungle, Support etc.
