MOONTON Games recently entered into a memorandum of agreement (MoA) with the Philippines Department of Tourism (DOT) to jointly organize the M5 World Championship, which is considered the largest Mobile Legends esports event worldwide. This grand event is scheduled to commence in Manila on December 2, 2023. During the ceremony, details such as early bird pricing, tournament venues, and ticket sales were revealed.
Taking place at the EVM Convention Center, this partnership solidifies MOONTON Games’ official authorization to host the international championship in Manila. It also outlines the foundation for cooperation between the global developer and DOT in hosting the tournament. The event is poised to attract tens of thousands of in-person attendees over a three-week period and millions of online spectators.
MOONTON Games and Philippines DOT unveil tourism plans for M5 World Championship
The Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) was drafted by various officials, including Atty. Mae Elaine T. Bathan, who serves as the DOT Undersecretary and Chief of Staff, Robby Alabado III, the Director of the Office of Film and Sports Tourism, Logan Shaw, who holds the position of MOONTON Games Philippines Esports Head, and Keith Medrano, the Regional PR Manager. Additionally, Mabel Zhang, the MOONTON Games Regional Esports Marketing Lead, was also in attendance during the signing.
Considering its global monthly active user base of 105 million and the extensive following of esports enthusiasts worldwide, encompassing regions like Southeast Asia, Latin America, Mongolia, the Middle East, and South Africa, the M5 World Championship will collaborate with the Department of Tourism (DOT) to introduce several tourism initiatives. - Fans of MPL PH teams are in for a treat – the PH Super Pass offers access to all matches that feature either of the qualifying Filipino teams (MPL PH representatives).
- This entitlement applies to all matches that the MPL PH representatives are participating in, and pass holders will be allocated seats at the Legend area in the Group Stage, and Mythic area in the Grand Finals, respectively.
- Each pass is priced at $51.70, that comes with a limited edition M5 World Championship hoodie.
MVP Pass
- Catered for fans looking to purchase on a per-match basis, the MVP Pass offers fans exclusive access to front-row seats and priority access, alongside express access for team meet-and-greet sessions.
- Based on Group Stage, Knockout Stage and Grand Finals selection, MVP Pass holders can receive M5 World Championship merchandise, based on the following entitlements indicated in the table below, where prices are varied by format:

And the surprises don’t stop for MPL PH fans. Ticket holders for MPL PH S12 will be entitled to a unique promotional code tied to their email addresses, used to purchase for the Playoffs taking place between October 25 – 29:
- All MPL-PH ticket buyers (Oct 25-29 event dates) will be entitled to a 10% discount code for M5 regular tickets, which will be on sale starting November 4, 2023, via SLASH.
- MPL PH Playoff ticket holders will receive a reminder through their emails, and users are required to input their respective email addresses to purchase the respective M5 passes at 10% off (the promotion code will be the email that they use to purchase the MPL PH S12 Playoffs)
- The discount can only be redeemed once, and it is advised not to share your respective promotional codes with anyone else or to share them on social media
- The discount code will be valid from November 4 to December 16, 2023
M5 World Championship 2023 breaks barriers with Wild Card format in Malaysia
This year, the M5 World Championship is set to go down in history with the introduction of the Wild Card format, scheduled to unfold in Malaysia from November 23 to 26, 2023. The top two teams will advance to the main stage, making this particular edition the most extensive and diverse Mobile Legends: Bang Bang international tournament to date. It will include participants from 15 regions and 69 countries spanning five continents.
In celebration of this momentous occasion, a fan conference is planned in the Philippines to honor the MPL PH representatives, alongside their families and fans, in anticipation of the Group Stage. Around the world, watch parties will be hosted, featuring popular MLBB talents. Further information regarding offline activities will be revealed at a later date.
