Mobile Legends North America Challenger Cup 2021: All you need to know

Moonton is hosting the very first community tournament in NA!

With an already strong presence in Southeast Asia, Moonton is looking to expand its Mobile Legends Esports reach to North America. Starting with the first-ever community tournament dubbed Mobile Legends North America Challenger Cup 2021, the tournament will feature teams from the United States, Mexico, and Canada. According to the Facebook post, a huge amount of USD 10,000 and 100,000 diamonds make up the prize pool, and winners are sure to receive a hefty portion from it.

With some speculations around the community, it seems that Bytedance’s recent acquisition of Moonton could be a move to introduce TikTok into the gaming market. The trending social media app has already taken up a huge share of the media market, rivalling Instagram, so it is no surprise that they will also be looking to expand into esports as well.

Tournament Format and teams

The tournament involves 16 teams from around the North America region and will play in a bracket-style tournament. The first round will be a simple Best-of-1 game. Moving forward, teams will need to beat their opponents in a Best-of-3 fixture. The Finals will be in a Best-of-5 style, to ensure that each team gets to showcase their fair share of abilities and skills.
