MPL Malaysia brings Hollywood action to the Land of Dawn with Predator: Badlands
I must say that MLBB has really grown a lot, as MPL Malaysia has confirmed a special crossover with Predator: Badlands, the latest sci-fi action movie in the Hollywood franchise. The collab will bring the Predator universe into the world of MLBB, including official broadcasts, league channels, and even an exclusive fan screening of the film.
Now, the movie is set on a deadly planet in the future, and follows a young outcast Predator who forms an unlikely alliance while seeking the ultimate opponent. The film is now showing in Malaysian theatres, hyping the crossover even more.
Krystal Tan, the Head of Business Development for Malaysia Esports at MOONTON Games, shared that this is the league’s “second crossover with a major Disney franchise this season,” following Tron: Ares. She also added that collabs like these show how “MPL Malaysia and esports have evolved into cultural mainstays that resonate deeply with today’s youth.“
From Soloz to 7GL, Malaysia’s stars unite under “Children of MLBB”
In celebration of the 9th anniversary, MLBB introduced the Children of MLBB, translated from Kami Anak MLBB. The campaign features popular local creators, Soloz, whose real name is Muhammad Faris Zakaria, and his life story also inspired the Malaysian movie Game of Life. Plus, fellow creators like 7GL and more also join the lineup.

Soloz also expressed his gratitude to the community, saying that “Kami Anak MLBB—this is more than a slogan, it’s who we are.” Adding to the celebrations, MOONTON Games fulfilled a fan’s birthday wish during a live broadcast by giving all Malaysian players an elite skin. The reward went live at midnight on October 13 and will be available for 48 hours.
On the esports side, SRG has clinched an Upper Bracket Playoffs spot after a perfect Week 5, defeating Team Rey and Monster Vicious to lead the standings with 21 points. While CG Esports slipped after a 1-2 loss to Homebois, but remains close to securing the other Upper Bracket spot with 18 points in MPL MY Season 15.
