Gameplay Overview
Let’s start with the gameplay overview of Avatar: Realms Collide to help you get a clear idea of how the game works, including its mini-games, and other features. In this 4x strategy game, you play as a leader, tasked with expanding your nation’s influence, defending against threats, and exploring new regions.
At the beginning of the game, you get to choose from the four iconic bending arts, Water, Earth, Fire, and Air, each offering unique bending effects. You can be the leader of Air Nomads, Water Tribe, Earth Kingdom, or Fire Nation. I went with Earth Kingdom, due to its +10 Resource Gathering Speed.

After choosing, you are transported to your base, but peace doesn’t last long. Chanyu‘s team soon attacks, and just when your team starts losing, one of the iconic Avatars, like Aang, comes to the rescue, allowing you to unleash a powerful attack that turns the tide of the battle.
After the battle, you can extinguish fires in your base, which offers visually pleasing effects. And once the initial chaos ends, the real journey begins. Your first objective like any similar title is to rebuild your devastated city, starting with building a farm, recruiting benders, and upgrading your Town Hall.

The first chapter concludes here, and you are rewarded with various items when you progress through a Chapter. It continues like any other 4x Strategy title, letting you expand your city, explore new regions, harvest and manage resources, go on expeditions, and defend your territory.
Avatar: Realms Collide Gameplay Basics
Campaign
The Campaign features Avatar Trails and Skyroad Challenges, with one more coming in the future. As the main game progresses, you can clear Avatar Trails stages from the Campaign.

Here you can place your hero in a 6-slot formation and engage in battles against enemies. You also win rewards. Once, your Town Hall hits level 8, you will also unlock Skyroad Challenges, which add to the fun.
Buildings
As a 4x strategy title, you will have to build and upgrade various buildings or structures in the game, like the Hall of the Avatar, the Altar of Heroes, the Town Hall, the Tunnel of Earth, and more. To progress efficiently, you need to strategically upgrade these buildings.

Moreover, to acquire powerful heroes like Aang, you will need to build the Hall of the Avatar and obtain four essences first. You have to build the Altar of Heroes, to acquire heroes like Sokka, and easily clear Avatar Trail stages.
After building the Scout House, you unlock the Expedition map, where you can survey hidden villages, look for scattered skulls, and fight with other players’ troops, for resources and rewards.
Heroes
You can unlock various iconic heroes like Sokka, Piandao, Kuvira, Roku, Kyoshi, and more, which proves to be useful to clear the stages. There is a specific hero section in the game, where you can either check their information or enhance their skills.

You can upgrade your heroes by using the Book of Experience, which increases your hero’s EXP by 100. Moreover, you have to promote your heroes to higher grades once they reach a certain level. You will also find the Talent tree, and the roles of your heroes depend on which talent point you choose.
Events

You can also take part in various events in the game, such as Rookie Leader Event, or New World Event. For instance, in the Rookie Leader Event, you can get Suki’s Spirit shards, Gems, Food, Wood, and more by reaching Expedition Lv5, and so on.
Alliance

You can join various alliances, once you build the Alliance Center. This way, you can team up with leaders worldwide to form alliances and work together to build strong settlements, capture strongholds, and share various benefits.

Avatar: Realms Collide Beginners Guide: Tips and Tricks
1. Upgrade essential Buildings and Structures
You should prioritize buildings that enhance resource production, and training speed, as well as buildings like Tunnel of Earth, Fire, Air, and Water. You can recruit element-specific benders from these buildings, and by upgrading them, you can increase the recruitment capacity as well as their power.
Make sure to also keep upgrading your walls, which increases their durability, power, and number of assigned heroes. Buildings like Warehouse are equally important, as they increase your resource protection capacity.
2. Prioritize upgrading your heroes regularly
To clear the Avatar Trails, win battles in expeditions, and tackle other challenges, upgrading your heroes is very essential. By upgrading them, you can increase their power, and the overall team’s power, and also unlock additional skills for them. Moreover, make sure to utilize the Talent tree properly.
3. Choose your leader’s bending art wisely
You should choose your leader’s bending art properly, not just based on your preference. Each of these elements offers distinct gameplay advantages, units, and more, so don’t pick them randomly.
I went with Earth bending art, as I felt it had better advantages than the rest, especially because of its resource-gathering speed bonus. Not only that, but it also offers good Construction Speed and increases the Earthbenders’ attack damage.
4. Go on more expeditions and increase Expedition Level
You should try going on as many expeditions as you can, as the rewards are great. You can earn character shards, EXP, and valuable resources in significant quantities. Additionally, you should survey hidden villages, assist them, and also send your troops to battle against other players’ troops, earning various rewards upon your victory.
