Black Beacon is a mythology sci-fi action RPG from Glohow Holdings Pte. Ltd. and Mingzhou Network Technology. It features a dark and dystopian world on the brink of chaos. The gear system in Black Beacon is called Ancient Marks. They are going to take your characters from decent to absolute monsters. If you’re serious about pushing through endgame content, you need to understand how these work, so in this Black Beacon Ancient Marks guide, let’s break it all down in a way that’s easy to follow.

How to get Ancient Marks in Black Beacon
Completing Tome of Fate stages: Black Beacon’s Tome of Fate challenges players with its roguelite gameplay elements. This is where you get most of your Seal of Fates, the currency used to buy Ancient Marks. But there’s more to it than just grinding stages and hoping for the best.
You can also unlock specific Ancient Marks by completing certain levels. For example, beating Level 1 rewards you with a 3-piece set.

- Chest of Fate: Now, let’s talk about the Chest of Fate, because this is where a lot of your farming will come into play. Every time you clear a Tome of Fate stage, you get these chests, and you can use up to five per run. Each one costs 40 stamina, meaning a full run will set you back 200 stamina, but in return, you’ll walk away with 750 Seal of Fate and three Winding Packs. That’s a pretty solid deal, especially since stamina is one of those things you don’t want to waste.
- The In-Game Store: Once you’ve got your hands on enough Seal of Fate, it’s time to hit the store, where you’ll find Ancient Marks in different sizes—10-piece, 5-piece, 3-piece, and 1-piece sets, each with their costs.
- 1-piece sets (cost 35)
- 10-piece sets (cost 300 Seal of Fate)
- 5-piece sets (cost 160)
- 3-piece sets (cost 100)

Now, here’s where things get interesting. Every character has 29 slots to fill with these Ancient Marks, and how you mix and match them is going to determine how strong they become. For example, a typical Florence is built with two 10-piece sets (which takes up 20 slots) and three 3-piece sets (adding another 9 slots), bringing her to the full 29.
But you don’t have to follow that exact setup, you could go for something like a 10-piece, a 5-piece, another 10-piece, and then a few smaller pieces to fill in the gaps. There’s some flexibility here, and part of the fun is figuring out what works best for your playstyle.
How to use Ancient Marks in Black Beacon
The good news is, unlike some other gacha games where gear farming is a nightmare, Black Beacon respects your time. When you merge two Ancient Marks, the new piece inherits their substats, meaning you’re not stuck praying for perfect RNG rolls. The only randomness comes when you first buy a piece; after that, you’re in control!

For example, let’s say you buy a piece with Fire Damage Boost (3.3%) and another with Crit Rate (4.8%). If you merge them, the new piece will have both stats. This means you don’t have to grind endlessly hoping for the perfect drop; you can build toward it systematically, which is a huge relief.
Which Sets Stack (And Which Don’t)

Now, one thing you have to pay attention to is which set effects stack and which don’t. Some 5-piece sets explicitly say “effects of the same type do not stack,” meaning if you equip two of the same set, you’re wasting slots. On the other hand, 10-piece effects usually do stack, so doubling up on something like Endless March can be a solid strategy.
Recarving Blades
And if you do mess up, don’t panic, Recarving Blades let you change substats after the fact. You’ll need three blades to reroll a 10-piece set and just one for a 3-piece set. These are rare (mostly from the Battle Pass), so use them wisely.
Oh, and if you disassemble a piece, you get all your materials back. No penalties, no losses. This game lets you experiment without punishing you for it, which is honestly refreshing!
