With more than 500k downloads in just a few days, we can expect Brawlhalla to become a very popular title among mobile esports just like it has become in PC. With so many players in the game already, the beginners must be really overwhelmed with the existing competition. That is exactly why we bring to you some tips and tricks for Brawlhalla mobile to guide fellow beginners. These tips start from very basic and move to advanced techniques which will have to be practiced rigorously to obtain visible results. That being said, let’s dive right into our Top 10 Tips and Tricks.

Brawlhalla Mobile tips and tricks

1. Movement is the key

The most basic and most important tips for Brawlhalla is movement. The game uses an on-screen D-pad for the movement controls and for PC players and even some mobile players, it can take some bit of time to get used to it. Even most players who are habituated to using the on-screen joystick will take some time getting adjusted to the D-pad.

Movement is the most important thing in Brawlhalla, positioning yourself on the platform is very important and so is moving in and out of combat at the necessary times. It’s obviously better to keep moving around than being still in one place and end up becoming an easy target for the enemies to practice their combos on. Go to the training mode and practicing your movements will help you improve your game to a great extent and once you’ve mastered the good movement, mixing it up with jumping and dashing is the key to improving in Brawlhalla. We will talk about jumping and dashing later in the list.

2. Perform light attacks

Well games can’t be won with movement alone and attacking is inevitable, but which attack to use when? There are two types of attacks in Brawlhalla, Light Attacks, and Heavy Attacks/Signature attacks. Signature attacks do more damage but light attacks are faster and can be spammed easily with less delay. Signature attacks have a larger area of effect but if missed, have a bigger window for getting countered. Whereas light attacks are more fluid and can be easily strung up into combos to endlessly harass the enemy.

There are 3 types of light attacks, 2 directional(holding forward direction and downwards direction buttons and pressing the light attack button) and a normal light attack(without holding any direction) the normal light attack can be made to string with a followup light attack. Use a combination of these light attacks to drain your enemy and then finish them off with your signature attack.

3. Jump often to become a tough target for your opponents

The third most important thing to remember in Brawlhalla is jumping. Staying in the air makes it much you a tougher target than when you’re on the ground. You have access to two jumps at once, which means that you can jump off a platform and jump once again in the air. Using your jumps wisely along with clever movement can make you a very good player and improve your game to a great extent. There is another concept in the game called fast fall, in the air if you hold the down direction immediately after jumping, you fall down fast. It can be a bit tough to pull off the timing but once perfected it can be very useful in-game.

4. Master the art of Dashing

One of the four buttons on the right side of the screen is the Dash/Dodge button. If pressed while holding a direction, your character will dash a small distance towards the selected direction. It’s a very useful action especially while playing ranked. It allows you to quickly engage and disengage opponents, it’s also very useful in avoiding opponents’ signature moves which usually hit very hard but take a bit of time to wind up. Effective use of dashing makes you harder to read and tougher to hit.

Brawlhalla Beginners Guide: Dashing

Dashing can also be incorporated in between attacks to build upon combos. It’s extensively used by high-rank players and is a very important trait. So make sure to keep practicing it so that you can perfect your ability to dash around the map. Mastering Dashing will guide beginners and pro players alike in Brawlhalla to climb ranks faster.

5. Learn to Dodge attacks

Akin to Dashing is Dodging, it can be done using the same button just you Dodge if you’re not pressing any directional buttons on the D-pad. Dodging allows players’ attacks to go through you. Dodging can be very useful to safely evade attacks which might be fatal for you and might throw you off the platform, using Dodge in this scenario not only allows you to evade safely but also counter your opponent.

Good use of Dodging can change the entire tide of the game but remember that Dodge cannot be spammed, after one use, you have to wait sometime to use it again. Dodging is a very essential skill but has to have a very precise timing otherwise the Dodge won’t be successful. So jump into the training mode and practice till you’re Dodging signature attacks with ease.

6. Learn how throwing weapons can be beneficial

There is an option in the game which lets you throw your weapon, at first it looks like an aspect which lets you just throw away your weapon if you want to change it, but even this can be used in combat. Throwing your weapon at enemies hits them, and after the weapon which has been thrown, falls on the ground it can be picked up within a second or two.

Brawlhalla Beginners Guide: Throwing

This feature allows you to include throws in your combos so that you can stun enemies from long range, it can be very useful if you do this just before engaging. You can throw your weapon at a player and immediately pick it up and continue attacking him. Many times even throwing your weapon at enemies in the air can prevent them from recovering from a fall, this can be very useful to KO people easily.

7. Master the attacking Combos

Offence is the best Defence. Keep attacking your opponents with endless and unavoidable combos to destroy them in seconds. Each and every character in Brawlhalla has it’s own set of combos that you can perform. Combos have the power to change the flow of the game immediately. Connecting one full-length combo can instantaneously drain your opponents’ health. The combos are usually so fast that it won’t allow any window for any counterattack. Each and every character has it’s own unique sets of combos, so make sure to practice and get familiar with your favourite ones.

8. Mastering a Character or Weapon

There are over 50 Characters(Legends) in Brawlhalla and each of them has unique moves and sets. There are 12 types of weapons in Brawlhalla namely Axe, Blaster, Bow, Cannon, Gauntlets, Grapple Hammer, Orb, Katars, Rocket Launcher, Scythe, Spear and Sword. Each type of weapon has its own strengths and weaknesses.

Try to learn and master one or two types of weapons instead of learning all the weapons up. This helps you find more innovative and effective ways to use your weapon and character which will often take the enemy by surprise. So jump into the Training mode and start grinding away to mastery.

9. Jumping can recover even if you are pushed out

While playing Brawlhalla, very often you’ll get pushed out of the platform so far that you will start feeling that there is no return, but many times it’s actually possible to recover from that situation. Firstly, don’t panic and use up all your jumps in quick succession. Using your jumps quickly shortens your jump length. Instead, use your first jump, wait for your character to travel the entire length, and use your second jump. You can also use your attacks and even your dodge to propel your character in the air. You can also stick to the sides of the platform to regain all your jumps. Use all these moves wisely and you can recover from the farthest of distances with ease.

10. Learn the Edge Guarding technique

Not being able to recover and not letting recover are two different things. If your opponent is thrown outside the platform, you can stay near the edge so as to prevent them from recovering. This technique is known as Edge guarding. It requires precise anticipation and perfect timing to catch the enemy especially when they’re in the air. Edge guarding is super effective especially in higher ranks where players know to recover from very distant falls, in such situations, edge guarding can be very useful as it assures you to seal those important knockouts which help you win more games eventually.

Conclusion

So that wraps up the tips and tricks for Brawlhalla Mobile. These tips will definitely be very helpful for beginners as a guide, as well as amateur players, and will be very useful in climbing the ranks quickly in Brawlhalla. Remember to keep practicing and perfecting the techniques and you will surely see yourself winning more matches than before. It’s impossible to think of a better beginner’s guide! It is worth paying attention to this information. On top of that, I advise new players to understand the weapon in Brawlhalla in detail, at least with the key features.
