Disney Twisted-Wonderland Beginners Guide and Tips

Disney Twisted-Wonderland is a Japanese adventure game with rhythm game elements created by Disney and Aniplex. You are summoned by a magic mirror to a world unlike your own. And you arrive at Night Raven College, a prestigious arcane academy. This is our Disney Twisted-Wonderland beginners guide to get to know the game along with some tips to help you.

Understanding the basics of Disney Twisted-Wonderland

Dorms

As you first start opening the game, the game will present with different kinds of dorms to choose from. You can choose one dorm and then a character in which you unlock their SR rank cards for free.

There are a total of seven dorms that are based on the seven villains in Disney movies. They are :

  • Heartslabyul, based on the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland. Students that you can unlock in this dorm are :
    • Riddle Rosehearts
    • Ace Trappola
    • Deuce Spade
    • Trey Clover
    • Cater Diamond
  • Octavinelle, based on Ursula from The Little Mermaid. Students that you can unlock in this dorm are:
    • Azul Ashengrotto
    • Jade Leech
    • Floyd Leech
  • Scarabia, based on Jafar from Aladdin. Students that you can unlock in this dorm are:
    • Kalim Al-Asim
    • Jamil Viper

  • Pomefiore is based on the Evil Queen from Snow White and Seven Dwarfs. Students that you can unlock in this dorm are:
    • Vil Schoenheit
    • Epel Felmier
    • Rook Hunt
  • Ignihyde, based on Hades from Hercules. Students that you can unlock in this dorm are:
    • Idia Shroud
    • Ortho Shroud
  • Diasomnia, based on Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty. Students that you can unlock in this dorm are:
    • Malleus Draconia
    • Lilia Vanrouge
    • Silver
    • Sebek Zigvolt

Cards

The game features a card system, where one character can have multiple cards based on different outfits that can have different ranks, stats, and abilities. They can be categorized into 3 different types, that is Attack, Defense, and Balanced. Cards rank differentiated from the lowest are :

  • R rank Cards that can be go into level 40 but can be maxed out into level 60 after being uncapped.
  • SR rank Cards that can be go into level 60 but can be maxed out into level 80 after being uncapped.
  • SSR rank Cards that can be go into level 80 but can be maxed out into level 100 after being uncapped.

You can increase a card’s level by using Blooming Honey, increase its Vignette level to the max to unlock its Vignette story with Snacks, perform Groovification to unlock a different illustration of the card using Candies, and use Awakening Perfumes to increase the level cap. Each also has its own Buddy, where the card will gain an additional boost in its stat when they are in the same team with certain characters. Buddy level can also be increased to a higher level.

Spells and Elements

Each card will behave as 2 spells that they can use in battle for attacking enemies, healing allies, and many others. Spells are usually differentiated between two kinds, a single strike spell, and a 2 hits spell.

They also come along with different kinds of elements, there is a rock, paper, and scissors system placed for certain elements. The elements are:

  • Water : Strong against Fire, but Weak against Flora
  • Fire : Strong against Flora, but Weak against Water
  • Flora : Strong agianst Water, but Weak against Fire
  • Cosmic : Neutral. Not Strong nor Weak against any element

Stories

There are several kinds of stories that you can follow along. The first one is the Main Story where you can explore your journey in Night Raven College along with issues happening in each dorm. The second one is Vignettes, which are mini-stories you can unlock by acquiring cards of the specific character. You can also unlock Chats that are also mini-stories by finishing certain criteria involving lessons.

Lessons

Lessons are modes that you can do to increase your player rank and increase levels of your cards. There is 3 type of lessons present in Twisted-Wonderland, they are :

  • History : Increase your card’s card level. You can also gain rewards like Blooming Honey.
  • Flight : Increase the Vignette level of your cards. You can also gain rewards like Snacks.
  • Alchemy : Increase the Buddy level of your cards. You can also gain spell upgrade materials and Alchemy Tokens. The characters that you can pick and the material rewards that you can get can differ following the schedule.

Taking a lesson will consume one Lesson Points, you can recover them by waiting after a certain amount of time or using items such as Starshards and gems.

Currencies

There are quite a number of different currencies in Twisted-Wonderland. But there are two most essential currencies that are used in the game, that is Thaumarks and Gems. You can use that marks along with other items to upgrade your cards and can also be used in the Shop. Gems can be used in a lot of things, such as summons, Lesson Points Recovery, the Shops, and many more.

Battle

The main part of the game features a turn-based system. In a turn, you can pick two spells to use against the enemy. The enemy will also choose their own spell. To win, you will have to figure out what elemental spells they will use. To give you an advantage, the game also has a system called First Strike Second Strike.

Usually, the game will let you know what element the enemy will use for the First Move on the first turn, and then the Second Move for the next turn, and then goes back to the First Move, and so on. You will have to figure out the rest by looking at all the spells they have and making a decision based on it. Of course, the outcome would be different depending on your luck.

Twistunes

Twistune is a rhythm mode where you click incoming tunes with precise timing. There are 3 kinds of Twistunes present in the game, that is One Color, Two Color, and Timer. You have a certain amount of score to be able to pass the stage. Once you finish a Twistune stage, you can return to play it again any time in the Twistune menu.

Exams

Are battles where you can fight enemies with certain conditions. Such as elements, difficulty, and many more. You can gain rewards of mostly Exam Tokens for finishing a stage of an Exam.

A gacha summoning system of the game. You can use Gems and Magical Keys to summon cards with all differing ranks and stats. If you happened to summon a card that you already have, it will automatically make the card’s level be uncapped into a higher level. However, if the card has already reached max uncap then it will be exchanged with an Awakening Perfume instead.

Shop

A place where you can buy all kinds of things using all kinds of currencies. The types of Shop present are :

  • Jumpstart Gem Shop : A limited time shop where you can use paid gems to buy bundles of essential items.
  • Gem Shop : Where you can use your free gems to buy bundles of essential items
  • Alchemy Token Shop : A shop where you can use your Alchemy Tokens to buy items, mostly spell upgrade materials.
  • Exam Token Shop : A shop where you can use your Exam Tokens to buy Magical Keys, Awakening Perfumes, Starshards, Blooming Honey, and even Thaumarks.
  • Card Shop (Thaumarks) : A Shop where you can use your Thaumarks to buy R rank School Uniform cards of every character present in the game.
  • Background Shop (Awakening Perfume) : A shop where you can use Awakening Perfume to buy backgrounds to be used for the background in the main menu.

Here are some of our tips in our Disney Twisted-Wonderland Beginners Guide to help you, newbies, to kickstart your journey.

1. Collect the first 300 gems

The mirror will present you with a guaranteed SSR card summon the first time you play. You can use your first 300 free Gems, and right after that, you can only use paid gems. So makes sure to use it effectively, by following a reroll guide.

To get free gems, You can focus on the main story and mission since achieving a certain mission will give you a fair amount of gems. Also, don’t forget to log in daily for the first seven days to acquire gems from the login rewards.

2. Have strong Friends

A supporting card can really turn the tide of battle, especially those with high levels. Having friends who have high-rank levels will most likely allow you to borrow their strongest card. So be sure to befriend a lot of powerful players!

3. Play the game regularly

Since the Alchemy class features a scheduling system, the only way you want to get stronger is to play the game every day and focus on getting spell upgrade materials. And since the game gives you log-in rewards for the first seven days, you will need to log in daily.
