eFootball 2025 has been dropping POTW packs every week, which have also been included with the standout European performers as well. When these slew of packs come, surely, confusion is something we all face.
But what’s the right way to go for these packs? I also would question myself. But then I saw a few patterns that I found impressive, and they worked! That’s exactly why this guide is here: to break it all down for you and help you make the right call when choosing a POTW card in eFootball 2025.
How to choose a POTW card in eFootball 2025
1. Significance of the card in your squad
Well, self-explanatory, right? Take a moment to assess your squad before picking up a POTW card. Do you need him? If he’s not a top-tier card, it’s not a big deal, but he might still fit into a themed squad you’re building. Since coins are usually limited, these choices can be tough, so it’s always best to check your squad’s needs first.
2. Comparison with the Base version
A flashy new POTW card might look tempting, but is it a big upgrade over his base version or other cards? If the improvements are minimal and you already own a similar version, it might not be worth spending your coins.

Since POTW cards come fully trained, you can instantly see their max stats, making comparisons easier. It might be worth picking up the new one if you already have his older version but from a previous club before a transfer. In such cases, upgrading makes sense, especially if the new card fits better into your squad.
3. Added Skills
While I mentioned stats being one factor, Skills are the next, and I feel this is the most important one. POTW cards can’t be trained or upgraded with new skills, meaning they’re capped at 10 skills without position boosts.
In some cases, if a base version already has 10 skills, KONAMI replaces one with a new skill, sometimes at the cost of an important one. If that missing skill is key to your play style, it could be a problem. So, always check if the new card’s skills align with what you need. If not, you know what to do.
4. Form and Player Conditioning
One key aspect players often overlook in POTW selections is Player Conditioning. High stats might seem tempting, but form plays a crucial role in performance. In eFootball, this changed to three categories: Inconsistent, Standard, and Unwavering, each affecting how frequently your player maintains good form.

Given how POTWs are the capped cards, you shouldn’t settle down for anything other than Unwavering form. Why? This will affect the condition of the player. When you check a player’s condition before starting a match, and if you see him in Red arrow condition more than you expect, then you know the player is inconsistent.
So while checking his stats, scroll to the bottom and have his Form checked. Injury Resistance isn’t a very contributing factor since it isn’t a very major deal in a game where injuries are very less. 5. Always pick Utility Players
This is one of the best suggestions I have. Utility players are those who can play in multiple positions. For example, in some cases, players will be played out of position in a certain match and hence get rating boosts in that position attributes.
While their overall rating might look the same, their hidden stats in those new positions improve significantly. This hidden rating effect is a real boost to their performance, turning them into a valuable multi-position asset for your squad.
Bonus: Consistent Real World Performers
Players who consistently perform well in real life usually hold an A or B Live Update rating, keeping them in top match condition. If you manage to get their Booster POTW version, it’s even better, as they receive an additional +2 or +3 boost based on their form.
I know you are curious about who these top players are. Well, you can bet on players like Mbappe, Pedri, Salah, Raphinha, Bellingham, and Palmer, to name a few. You can check out the eFootballHUB site to see the Live Update history of any player you want.
