eFootball 2025 has been dishing out some top-rated cards for us, and of course, we all are confused thinking, “Which of these are really endgame?“. Plenty of players are searching for the right pick for their squad, but here, rating only doesn’t matter. Everything combined puts you to push into a top-tier squad, but something players miss is attributes for their players. Midfielders are the backbone of any successful team in eFootball 2025. Choosing the right midfielder involves focusing on attributes that complement your overall playstyle. So, here’s a breakdown of the key attributes and skills to look for when selecting the perfect midfielder in eFootball 2025.
Top Attributes and Skills for a Midfielder in eFootball 2025
Under midfielders, we have attacking, defensive, wide, and center midfielders.
Attacking Midfielder (AMF)
The Attacking Midfielder (AMF) plays a crucial role in orchestrating attacks, linking up play, and providing creativity in the final third. When selecting an AMF, you should prioritize attributes like Dribbling, Ball Control, and Passing. Dribbling is crucial for creating space and evading defenders, while Ball Control ensures that the AMF can maintain possession in tight spaces. This holds good for whatever Manager Tactic you use.
Passing, especially Short Pass and Low Pass, is essential for making quick passes to the forwards. Additionally, Finishing and Positioning are important if you want your AMF to contribute to goals. Having these stats in the 80s or higher will give the player the ability to make precise passes and take advantage of goal-scoring opportunities when they arise.
Attributes like Offensive Awareness will help the AMF get into space and pick up key passes. Stamina is also important, as the AMF needs to be involved throughout the game, especially when linking up the play between the midfield and the forwards.
When it comes to skills, there are several that are non-negotiable for an effective AMF. Through Passing and One Touch Pass are essential for creating chances. Long Range Shooting can add an element of surprise, although most of the AMFs come with this skill. One or two dribbling skills will come in handy, depending on what suits the best use case.
Central Midfielder (CMF)
When selecting a Central Midfielder in eFootball 2025, the focus is typically on attributes like Passing, Ball Control, and Stamina. Central Midfielders are often tasked with dictating the tempo of the game and making key passes, so a high Passing stat, especially in the 80s or 90s, is crucial. Creative Playmakers and Orchestrators need it in the 90s.
Again, like AMFs, Ball Control and Tight Possession are important to ensure that your CMF can glide through tight spaces and maintain possession under pressure. Stamina is also essential since these players are involved in both offensive and defensive transitions.
For a Possession Game, having good Low Pass and Short Pass attributes is necessary to maintain fluid build-up play. For Counter playstyles, Speed might become more important, as you’ll need your CMF to transition the ball quickly and link up with attackers in fast breaks. For Box-to-Box midfielders I recommend having a few stats distributed over their defensive abilities.
For skills, essential ones for a CM include One Touch Pass, Through Passing, and Long Pass to deliver precise balls over longer distances. Defensive skills like Interception and Tackling are key for regaining possession, while Long Range Shooting + Rising Shot can add a surprising goal-scoring combo when the midfielder arrives in the box. Again, this depends on the playstyle of the player.
Defensive Midfielder (DMF)
A Defensive Midfielder is crucial in protecting your backline and breaking up opposition attacks. Attributes like Tackling, Interception, and Strength are vital for this role. Defensive Midfielders need to be effective at disrupting the opposition’s play, so a high Tackling stat is essential, along with strong Awareness to read the game well.
Strength is also useful for shielding the ball and holding off attackers in defensive situations. For a Possession Game, CDMs should be comfortable on the ball and able to pass it under pressure, so high Ball Control and Passing attributes are important.
In Counter playstyles, Speed and Acceleration help in covering ground quickly to support the attack, while Stamina ensures they can contribute throughout the game, whatever the playstyle is. For skills, Interception and Tackling are must-haves. Blocker and Sliding Tackle can help regain possession, whereas some Show Time also comes in really handy.
Wide Midfielders (LMF/RMF)
Wide Midfielders are similar to your wingers, who are often tasked with delivering crosses or cutting inside to take shots. For these players, attributes like Speed, Dribbling, and Crossing are key. Wide players need to be able to beat defenders and deliver accurate crosses, so high Dribbling and Crossing attributes are essential.
For Possession Game playstyle, Low Pass and Tight Possession are vital. In Counter playstyles, Wing Midfielders with Speed and Offensive Awareness are key to exploiting space on the flanks and delivering quick, dangerous crosses or through balls. Generally, Acceleration and Speed help them get into dangerous positions down the wing or make cutting runs inside the box.
These wide midfielders also come in handy while defending, so among one of the two, I suggest adding some progression for defensive attributes to come in handy. Skills like Pinpoint Crossing, Step On Skill Control, and Cut Behind & Turn are must-haves for creative wingers. Rising Shot and Knuckle Shot add an extra goal-scoring threat from wide positions.
