eFootball 2026 brings yet another release of a majestic pack, and it has Marcel Desailly, Patrick Vieira and Cafu with the European Clubs Guardians pack. How many of these are worth spinning? How many are worth the coins spent? Here’s my verdict after emptying the pack.
eFootball 2026 European Clubs Guardians players
Marcel Desailly
- Position: CB
- Playing Style: The Destroyer
- Showtime Skill: Aerial Fort and Fortress
The new card, Desailly, is exactly the type of card that makes opponents uncomfortable. Even being a Destroyer, he doesn’t chase recklessly, and when he steps in, it usually ends with the ball back at your feet. I’m not sure if I put experience into words correctly, but his aggressiveness isn’t reckless.
Aerial Fort gives him a huge presence in midfield duels, especially against long balls and second balls. The height factor doesn’t affect him, and he is pretty flexible to use. Something that would have made him extra overpowered is Long Range Tackle, since his leg length is already at the highest.
So what about pace? Many won’t ask this question, as he comfortably sits as one of the fastest CBs in the game, and you can get both the Speed and Acceleration numbers over 90 and without sacrificing any of his beastly defensive numbers.
So, who would be the closest comparison? I would say Thuram, another French international, and if I were to compare, I would kind of lean into Thuram’s Barcelona version, as it still reigns supreme in all departments, only bested by Nesta. Give him Acrobatic Clearance and One Touch Pass skills if possible.
Patrick Vieira
- Position: DMF
- Playing Style: The Destroyer
- Showtime Skill: Fortress and Phenomenal Pass
Even while Desailly was the central pick from this pack, many had their sights set on this particular monster of a midfielder, Vieira. Destroyer role suits him well, and those numbers are bonkers when paired with his Player ID. Still, I would think it isn’t the best card he gets, and I will tell you why.
For his review, you can say he’s everywhere, covering every side of the pitch, and his presence alone changes how midfield battles play out. Naturally, as a DMF, he is excellent in the interception department, which his off-the-ball AI automatically performs to his strengths.
Now, he excels in every department, even in passing without many progression points, since Phenomenal Pass makes a real difference here. Now, why do I think he isn’t the best version of himself is the missing of Long Reach Tackle.
I would say it is a smart move, so that you can save this for the later cards; the same goes for Desailly. The Phenomenal Pass would go ham on this card. Maybe, one day, we’ll get it. For now, if you have pulled him, don’t forget to give him the Through Passing skill.
Cafu
- Position: RB
- Playing Style: Offensive Fullback
- Showtime Skill: Edged Crossing
Cafu was my pick out of the three for different reasons. While the other two are about physicality, Cafu is the flashy defender pick here. He is also a strong card, although he gets a slight nerf in defence, he is always available on the right, always overlapping, and always ready to sprint back if something breaks down.
Edged Crossing adds a nice layer to his attacking runs, as he pushes up high and is always in a good crossing position. Surely you need to allocate more points for passing, since the auto-build is pretty spread out.
Defensively, he won’t lock down elite wingers one-on-one, but his recovery runs usually clean up any mistakes since he has the pace to cover up. For skills, you can go with Double Touch and on the defensive side with Blocker and Acrobatic Clearance.
Best pick from the European Clubs Guardians pack in eFootball 2026
I would say this is a pack that one should go for if they need a rock-solid midfielder + defender combo. All three are really strong picks, and the overall value this adds to defense and midfield shouldn’t be a miss out if you have enough coins.
