eFootball 2026 has introduced a fresh spin on Epic packs with the new “choice” series, and kicking things off is none other than Lamine Yamal. The young Barcelona star headlines this new concept where the eFootball 2026 ambassadors handpick their favorite players for special packs.
For now, three out of Yamal’s six selections have arrived, featuring Carles Puyol, Deco, and Gianluigi Buffon, while the remaining picks are still under wraps. With names like Messi, Suárez, and Neymar also part of this ambassador series in the future, we currently wait to see what their picks are.
So now focusing on this pack, is this worth a spin? Does this bring some value to your coins, let us find out.
eFootball 2026 Epic Lamine Yamal’s Choice Players
Carles Puyol
- Position: CB
- Playing Style: Destroyer
- Showtime Skill: Fortress and Aerial Fort
This Puyol card will feel very familiar if you’ve used his previous versions. Compared to the Spanish version, I don’t see much of a difference, but the big talking point is the ST skill change. Losing Long Reach Tackle and getting Aerial Fort instead does feel like a downgrade on paper.

It is a good skill, yes, but Aerial Fort is kind of a hit or miss. If they had included Aerial Fort alongside Long Reach Tackle, you would have a splendid card. That said, once you actually use him, you can notice he’s still very strong physically. Despite not being the tallest CB, he is a solid hand in the air.
The jumping and physical contact stats definitely help him compete against bigger forwards. Defensively, it’s exactly what you expect from a Destroyer Puyol. Aggression, engagement, tackling, everything is top tier. You can easily build this card to comfortable stat levels of pace as well.
Suggested Skills: Heading, One Touch Pass
Suggested Booster(s): Stealing
Suggested Progression Points Allocation for Carles Puyol
| Shooting | Passing | Dribbling | Dexterity | Lower Body Strength | Aerial Strength | Defending | GK 1/2/3 |

Deco
- Position: CMF
- Playing Style: Orchestrator
- Showtime Skill: Phenomenal Pass and Low Screamer
Looking at the stats alone, this is a really strong card. The technical side is the best part here; top-tier dribbling and passing with ball control, tight possession, and dribbling are excellent. You can easily go, this is a pull!

But something stops you from doing that. Yes, Deco’s playstyle. Creative Playmaker or even a Hole Player at AMF, where you can fully use his attacking qualities, you would totally see that this is close to the SSS tier. As an Orchestrator CMF, it almost feels like the card is being held back a little.
You will have to play him as a no-playstyle AMF. Otherwise, you are wasting both the Phenomenal Pass and Low Screamer skills, which are very impressive additions for a creative midfielder.
Suggested Skills: First Time Shot, Weighted Pass, Sole Control, Fighting Spirit, Pinpoint Crossing
Suggested Booster(s): Off the Ball
Suggested Progression Points Allocation for Deco
| Shooting | Passing | Dribbling | Dexterity | Lower Body Strength | Aerial Strength | Defending | GK 1/2/3 |

Gianluigi Buffon
- Position: GK
- Playing Style: Offensive Goalkeeper
- Showtime Skill: GK Spirit Roar
This is a pretty big change for Buffon compared to his older versions. The shift from a Defensive Goalkeeper to an Offensive Goalkeeper is actually a very nice upgrade. You can notice it during gameplay as well.

Given the current meta, where you definitely need to sweep the ball off under the high lines of Possession Game or Quick Counter, Buffon is very handy. Stat-wise, this is exactly what you’d expect from a top-tier goalkeeper. Reflexes, Reach, and Goalkeeping are all reaching close to the 99s.
The interesting addition here is GK Spirit Roar. After Oliver Kahn, he’s the only keeper to get this skill in the game. It’s still a bit unclear how much impact it has in terms of gameplay, but if it helps in increasing the physical strength of defenders in 2nd half, you have another amazing ability to bank onto.
Suggested Skills: NA
Suggested Booster(s): Saving
Suggested Progression Points Allocation for Gianluigi Buffon
| Aerial Strength | GK 1 | GK 2 | GK 3 | Others |

| 1 | 10 | 10 | 11 | 0 |
Best pick from the Epic Lamine Yamal’s Choice players pack in eFootball 2026
Overall, I see there’s a lot of debate about this pack, but I feel this is still a solid offering. Puyol isn’t a meta card, as the taller strikers would be dominant, but he’s a ground-defending monster. Deco has impressive numbers, and Buffon is expected to be in the top keepers debate.
Here’s my final cards tier list and pack rating.
| Tier | Players |
|---|---|
| SSS (Endgame) | Gianluigi Buffon |
| SS (Excellent) | Carles Puyol, Deco |
| S (Strong) | None |
| A (Good) | None |
| B (Average) | None |
| C (Below Average) | None |
Pack Rating: 3 out of 5
