eFootball 2026 “Lionel Messi Edition” pack review

Messi pack on track!

The Messi Edition comes as one of the most appealing themed packs in eFootball 2026, featuring Lionel Messi as an Epic card. Much like the Lamine Yamal Edition pack, this one also adds depth with multiple options across the pitch, but the real headline is having Messi himself.

While the Avatar Sets, Stadium Choreo, and Giant Prop styles differ here, many might look into this pack as a positive addition to make their squads stronger. So, is it worth it? Let me share my review and verdict.

eFootball 2026 “Lionel Messi Edition” pack contents

There are 11 players in total, and here’s a full breakdown of what you are getting with them.

Lionel Messi

  • Position: SS
  • Playstyle: Classic No. 10
  • Show Time skill: Visionary Pass

Messi, in his Classic No. 10 role, feels as magical as you’d expect. He is still the master of close control, weaving past defenders as if they aren’t there. His dribbling feels effortless, and he can just as easily drop deep to create or stay up to finish.

Finishing is also in the 90s, and it is pretty accurate. For a creator, those pace and acceleration numbers are good enough, but surely, if you have other Messi cards, this seems to be a downgrade. Passing gets a boost thanks to the Visionary Pass.

Something that hinders this card is the lack of movement, so he largely stays idle, and runs are kind of an irregularity if you are someone who wants to pass and move. But stamina remains since he doesn’t get involved in defense. Surely, you can see better card options here.

Mohamed Salah

  • Position: RWF
  • Playstyle: Roaming Flank

Another Salah card, and he is all about pace and dropping to the centre. He thrives when given space on the wing, bursting forward and cutting inside to create scoring chances. Finishing is great, a burst of pace on this card has always been good.

Dribbling is surprisingly on the rougher side; he isn’t a very smooth card to handle, which is strange compared to other Salah cards I’ve used. Physical contact is abysmal, and this is only because you are seeing more physical defenders on the pitch.

Robert Lewandowski

  • Position: CF
  • Playstyle: Goal Poacher

Classic Lewandowski card. He’s strong in the box, finds the right spaces, and knows how to finish. The Awareness and Finishing department got some good treatment for this card, and it is a superb striker if you are looking for someone who is good at finding space behind the defenders.

Even the Aerial game of this card is great. But like many other players would point out, the weakness is what the current meta thrives on: Speed. That isn’t here, and it is kind of really horribly treated, while many of his cards have 80s numbers.

Kevin De Bruyne

  • Position: AMF
  • Playstyle: Creative Playmaker

De Bruyne is one of the most complete attacking midfielders you can use. He runs the game with pinpoint passing, switching plays, and creating chances from anywhere. The on-the-ball genius in De Bruyne can be best utilized for someone who knows how to use the Creative Playmaker style effectively.

Definitely, he has his weaknesses; that stamina isn’t good enough to last long for the full 90, and physical contact alongside finishing seems to be a miss. That aside, it’s a strong card to have.

Luka Modrić

  • Position: CMF
  • Playstyle: Orchestrator

A player to dictate tempo here. Modric is a player who finds himself light on the ball, reads the play well, and possesses the composure to dictate the tempo. That passing is such a blessing, and he absolutely brings his best in this department. Stamina is a concern alongside physical duels.

Reviews of other cards are like this:

  • Yassine Bounou (GK/Offensive Goalkeeper): A tall and secure goalkeeper who can deal with powerful long shots. Struggles sometimes in one-on-one situations, but I find him consistent in saving shots.
  • Stefan de Vrij (CB/Build Up): A reliable centre-back who thrives on discipline and positioning. Strong in duels and calm under pressure, though his lack of pace limits him against quicker forwards.
  • Chris Wood (CF/Target Man): A classic physical striker built for aerial battles and holding up play. I kind of like this card, but I can totally see many binning this one, because of speed.

  • Nicolás Otamendi (CB/Destroyer): An aggressive defender who loves physical contests and throws himself into challenges. Brings that brash playing style, but that pace is a big no, sadly.
  • Jonathan Clauss (RB/Offensive Wingback): A hardworking fullback with energy to contribute at both ends. Offers width and overlapping runs, though not elite in attack or defense, more of a balanced option.
  • James Rodríguez (AMF/Classic No. 10): A midfielder who thrives on creativity. Dribbling is good on this card still, so nostalgic and fun are the keywords.

eFootball 2026 “Messi Edition” pack verdict and rating

This pack feels stronger than most due to the high-quality names spread across every position. Messi is, of course, the main attraction, but players like De Bruyne, Salah, and Lewandowski add good value. However, they aren’t close to the best version of their respective cards.

Not every player here is top-tier, and there are a couple of filler options, but the overall balance makes it a good buy only if you are a starting player. Otherwise, this isn’t a good deal for someone like me who has played for a while and doesn’t care much about building a fancy stadium.

Pack Rating: 2 out of 5
