The most awaited event in the FIFA Mobile 22 Calendar is finally here. FIFA Mobile 22 TOTY alias the FIFA Mobile Team of the Year live. Every year EA celebrates the top performers of the previous calendar year by paying homage to them in form of the Team of the Year event.

Welcome to Team of the Year! Play Skill Games, win Matches, and compete in Challenge Mode to earn the best players in the world. TOTY starts now! The best players of yesteryear across all three positions namely, attack, midfield, and defense get their high-rated in-game cards and we players get a taste of the same.

FIFA Mobile 22 TOTY Event Description

• Event Duration: February 3rd – March 17th (42 Days)

FIFA Mobile 22 TOTY Event Flow

Main

In the Main Tab, you will play 4 Skill Games and 1 AI Match every day to earn TOTY Tokens and TOTY position-specific Points. Completing the Skill Game rewards you with position-specific TOTY Points while failing to do it gives you the option to retry. The path refreshes every 12 hours at 19:00 and 7:00 UTC time. Yes, you play the entire path twice a day! It resets twice a day and you get to do all of this twice. Make sure to complete the path twice daily to maximize your rewards!

The Skill Games rewards with position-specific TOTY Points. Now week 1, everything you do is going to reward you with Attack Points. Week 2 is Midfield Points, while Week 3 is Defense and the following three weeks give you a mixture of all three.

TOTY Token Trade-In

Now the way the Team of the Year Tokens work is these are exchangeable for any position-specific TOTY Points you want on a 5:2 ratio. So you trade in 150 TOTY Tokens for 60 position-specific TOTY Points. So they are a bit more valuable than anything else. Convert your TOTY Tokens to ATK, MID, or DEF Points at the Token Store.

This is where you do the exchange and has a weird thing to it. 150 TOTY Tokens get you 60 ATK/MID/DEF Points and the possibility of a TOTY Nominee Player! So when you trade in your Tokens, along with the position-specific points, you get an item that ranges from random elites to TOTY Nominees. These Nominees will come to play in the position-specific rewards chapter. Redeem this trade-in 10 times to receive a guaranteed TOTY Nominee on your 11th time!

Position Reward Chapters

Use your hard-earned TOTY Points along the Reward Path for TOTY Premium Nominee Players and various rewards. This is the path of rewards. Choose between the Attacker, Midfielder, or Defender chapters. The same path that has been present in all past FIFA Mobile 21 Events but this time has an additional twist.

Now each path has at least three TOTY starters. In order to claim a starter, you need Starter Points for each position that you claim throughout the path. But if you get to any of these exchanges, you can trade in one of your Nominees for a player. As you progress down the path, you’ll reach clusters of multiple TOTY Premium Nominees.

To claim the Premium Nominees of your choice, you need to trade in the correct amount of TOTY Points and the regular Nominee version of the player. For example, to claim 89 OVR Premium Nominee Phil Foden, you need to trade in 1000 ATK Points and the 87 OVR Nominee version of Phil Foden.

Claiming a TOTY Premium Nominee Player also earns you additional Starter Points, which are used towards TOTY Starter Players. Like the TOTY Points system, Starter Points can only be used towards their corresponding position (ATK Starter Points for Attacker Starters). Once you’ve claimed a TOTY Starter, you’ll also receive Ultimate Points. These are to be used towards UTOTY Players, high-rated versions of the original Starters. UTOTY Players start at 150 Ultimate Points and require a trade-in of the same TOTY Starter.

TOTY Milestones

There are additional milestones which on completing reward you with extra TOTY Tokens, Event Icons, and Prime Icons for using your TOTY Points down the Reward Paths! There are different Icons for different position-specific players but most of them are needless to say, pay-to-win players. The Token milestones on spending 12000 position-specific points are achievable.

Star Pass

There are also items and in-game resources for the event present in the Star Pass. Complete Quests throughout the event to earn Star Pass progress, which includes rewards like TOTY Tokens, TOTY Points, TOTY Players, Transfer Training Items, Logos, Stadiums, and Emotes.

Play Division Rivals Matches and complete daily/weekly Quests to progress. This Star Pass is massive lasting 42 days and looks like this time it’s worth the money. There are Points and Tokens both on the pay side and the free side with the players being only exclusive for the paid version of the pass.

So don’t forget your daily quests to progress through the Star Pass! Earning Star Pass Credits will unlock more rewards along the Star Pass path. There are two tiers to the Star Pass: free and premium. You can also use FIFA Points to move faster through Star Pass levels and collect rewards faster.

Challenge Mode

Now, the last thing that we have is the Challenge Mode. Challenge Mode continues into TOTY! Play through Matches to earn TOTY Points and TOTY Tokens, along with growing team building requirements like having TOTY Players in your lineup. 

There are two different challenge modes that drop over the weekend starting this Friday. This is a brand-new gauntlet mode in FIFA Mobile!  Win all your Matches daily to get the maximum rewards, as your Challenge Mode progress resets every 24 hours during the weekend and every 48 hours during the mid-week Challenge Mode.

If you lose, your turn ends. There’s an option to spend 200 Gems to retry from where you got knocked out. There are new Challenge Modes starting on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Tuesday during TOTY, so make sure to check in often!

Win all your Matches daily to get the maximum rewards, as your Challenge Mode progress resets every day at 19:00 UTC time. If you lose, your turn ends. There’s an option to spend 200 Gems to retry from where you got knocked out. Now, there are a series of AI matches involved in a Gauntlet, and you need to win them all for max rewards!

FIFA Mobile 22 TOTY Event Currencies

TOTY Tokens

• Earn them from playing Skill Games and Matches, completing Daily Quests, and competing in Challenge Mode. Find more TOTY Tokens on the Star Pass. 
• Trade them in for TOTY Points (ATK/MID/DEF) and the possibility of Coins, Base Elite Players, and Nominee Players.

TOTY Points (ATK/MID/DEF)

• Earn them from playing Skill Games, completing Daily Quests, and competing in Challenge Mode. Find more TOTY Points on the Star Pass.
• Use them towards TOTY Premium Nominees and to claim rewards in their respective chapters.
• Can only be used towards their respective position. (ATK Points for Attacker Premium Nominees.)

TOTY Starter Points (ATK/MID/DEF)

• Earn them by claiming TOTY Premium Nominees.
• Use them towards TOTY Starters.
• Can only be used towards their respective position. (ATK Starter Points for Attacker Starters.)

Ultimate Points

• Earn them by claiming TOTY Starters.
• Use them towards UTOTY Players.

Running the Math for F2P Players

Once again, your Points solely depend on how far you can progress on the Challenge Mode with your team. Additionally note that since the Position-Specific Points rotate across the skill games, you will receive a grand total of 13430 Position-Specific TOTY Points across all positions, yes all not a single one position!

You can trade your TOTY Tokens for position-specific TOTY Points to gain an additional amount of them on the chapter you are targetting for the higher OVR starter. It is just more exciting than you think! In short, you can land

Total 18530 TOTY Position Specific Points on one position and 13430 TOTY Position Specific Points on the other two positions

We usually never suggest buying the Star Pass but if you were able to spend your $10 on the game even once, this is the time when it is definitely worth it. The Pass does appear to be worth it and will make the difference between what you can claim and what you can’t.

FIFA Mobile 22 TOTY Event Tips and Tricks

After a decent New Beginnings, TOTY is a decent event in FIFA Mobile 22. It has a little amount of grind, with daily skill games and matches to play. So here are our additional tips and tricks to help you get the best from the event. It took us a while to get these answers and calculate everything so let’s explain it here.

Now tips for the event. Play everything. Be excited that there’s no event energy or stamina involved anymore in the new season. We’re not dealing with the constant fear of energy getting wasted and full and neither has there been a single ad since the game was released. So yes, definitely enjoy it while you can.

From the table above you can clearly see you can go down straight down the path and easily grab at least one of the 94-95 rated Attacker Starters that are available now. We will still suggest you horde in and save your TOTY tokens till the very end as Midfield and Defense unlocks and then finally make your decision. Keeping everything in mind, here is our strategy on how to maximize your gains.

In order to claim the TOTY attacking starters from the path, here are the following combinations:

  • Go to Attack Node 37 and Do 92 OVR Trade once and 90 OVR trade once

  • Go to Attack Node 51 and Do 93 OVR Trade once (Not possible without Star Pass)

  • Go to Attack Node 58 and Do 93 OVR Trade once and Do 92 OVR Trade once (Not possible without Star Pass)

Midfield

In order to claim the TOTY midfielder starters from the path, here are the following combinations:

• Jorginho
  • Go to Midfield Node 30 without any exchanges

• Kanté
  • Go to Midfield Node 58 without any exchanges OR
  • Go to Midfield Node 51 and Do 93 OVR Trade once (Not possible without Star Pass)

• De Bruyne
  • Go to Midfield Node 58 and Do 93 OVR Trade once and Do 92 OVR Trade once (Not possible without Star Pass)

Defense

In order to claim the TOTY defender starters from the path, here are the following combinations:

• Hakimi
  • Go to Defense Node 30 without any exchanges

• Cancelo
  • Go to Defense Node 30 without any exchanges

• Marquinhos
  • Go to Defense Node 44 without any exchanges OR
  • Go to Defense Node 37 and Do 92 OVR Trade once and 89 OVR trade twice OR
  • Go to Defense Node 37 and Do 92 OVR Trade once and 90 OVR trade once

• Donnarumma
  • Go to Defense Node 44 without any exchanges OR
  • Go to Defense Node 37 and Do 92 OVR Trade once and 89 OVR trade twice OR

Free-to-Play route (without the Star Pass)

Now in one position path, you are going to do the TOTY Token exchanges and trade them all for the one position points whether it is attack, midfield, or defense. You will be able to claim a 95 OVR Starter from that path for 550 Starter Points. From the other two paths, you can claim two 94 OVR Starters each for 300 Starter Points. Additionally from the Starter players, you gain an additional 200 UTOTY Points. Thus,

One 95 OVR Starter from a single path and Two 94 OVR Starters from the other two paths, along with 200 UTOTY Points

It should be noted, that if you are a free-to-play player and not investing in the Star Pass, there is absolutely no reason for you to do the Nominee exchanges. Unless you really want those premium Nominee players, your route should be directly going down straight the path and obtain the 95 OVR Starter. Also, remember that all of the players are available for you from the market itself as well. If you are not spending on the Star Pass, it is not going to change what you will achieve from the paths.

Free-to-Play TOTY Combinations

Since there are no 94 OVR TOTY Starting midfielders, so for the case of midfield, if you want one from each path with your 95 OVR TOTY starter being an attacker or defender then 93 OVR Jorginho is your only free-to-play option. Therefore a Free-to-Play player can easily claim either of the following combinations:

• 94 OVR Attacker (Mbappe) + 93 OVR Midfielder (Jorginho) + 95 OVR Defender (Rúben Dias)
• 94 OVR Attacker (Mbappe) + 93 OVR Midfielder (Jorginho) + 94 OVR Defender (Marquinhos/Donnarumma)
• 94 OVR Attacker (Mbappe) + 95 OVR Midfielder (Kanté) + 94 OVR Defender (Marquinhos/Donnarumma)
• 94 OVR Attacker (Mbappe) + 95 OVR Midfielder (Kanté) + 93 OVR Defender (Hakimi/Cancelo)
• 95 OVR Attacker (Lewandowski) + 93 OVR Midfielder (Jorginho) + 94 OVR Defender (Marquinhos/Donnarumma)
• 95 OVR Attacker (Lewandowski) + 93 OVR Midfielder (Jorginho) + 93 OVR Defender (Hakimi/Cancelo)

Pay-to-Play route (with the Star Pass)

Now if you did buy the pass, from one position path, you are going to do the TOTY Token exchanges and trade them all for the one position points whether it is attack, midfield, or defense. You will be able to claim a 92 OVR Premium Exchange from that Node 37 and 93 OVR Premium Exchange from that Node 58 and then go down the same path towards Node 58 and claim the 96 OVR Starter.

From the other two paths, you can go directly down the end, towards Node 58 and claim the 95 OVR Starters from those two paths. The entire thing will also cost you an extra 3000 Gems which you should be having in your stock. Additionally from the Starter players, you gain an additional 270 UTOTY Points. Thus,

One 96 OVR Starter from a single path and Two 95 OVR Starters from the other two paths, along with 270 UTOTY Points

Please remember we are not encouraging anyone to spend their hard-earned cash on the game and buy the Star Pass. It is completely one’s choice whether they want to spend on the game or not. But still, if you were saving to buy the Star Pass for once, this is the time. This is seriously the one time, buying and completing the Star Pass can give you an additional boost that might be worth it. The Star Pass also rewards you with a 95 OVR Event Icons RB Zanetti.

Pay-to-Play TOTY Combinations

Therefore a Pay-to-Play player can easily claim either of the following combinations:

• 95 OVR Attacker (Lewandowski) + 95 OVR Midfielder (Kanté) + 95 OVR Defender (Rúben Dias)
• 96 OVR Attacker (Messi) + 95 OVR Midfielder (Kanté) + 95 OVR Defender (Rúben Dias)
• 95 OVR Attacker (Lewandowski) + 96 OVR Midfielder (De Bruyne) + 95 OVR Defender (Rúben Dias)

Ultimate TOTY Players

You can exchange your TOTY Starter and Ultimate Points to get an Ultimate TOTY Player. Yes, you do have to trade in the TOTY Starter in exchange for the UTOTY Player you want to obtain. So you will have to give up something in order to obtain one of these, depending upon what it is.

But you can again buy the players from the market to use them in the exchange. It is not mandatory to obtain and give them up, you can claim the players from anywhere and use them for the trade. In fact even for the TOTY Premium Nominee exchanges, if you really want you can just buy the Nominee from the market and perform the trade, provided you lack the player from the Exchange packs.

We are limiting ourselves to these tips for claiming the UTOTY players, for now, once the players are revealed with their individual requirements, we will update this space with the latest tips and tricks to claim the best possible UTOTY Starter.

That’s it the Team of the Year in a nutshell. Beyond that, there isn’t a whole lot to say about this event. All the calculations are at your doorstep there, do with it what you will and plan carefully. We will update the numbers once midfield or defense release. The paths can be a bit different as you don’t get that many points for midfield or defense as in attack. These are endgame players, a lot of them ie at least until the TOTS (Team of the Season) release. You’re gonna be very excited!
