Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 WILDS: Tips to mark opponent with the Flare Gun

Use a flare gun as a recon item!

Fortnite keeps on adding new content every week in order to keep its gameplay interesting and exciting for its players. Weapons are a big part of this game and Epic Games keeps on adding new weapons frequently for the version 25.10 update, the developers have added the now unvaulted Flare Gun in Fortnite Wilds which can be used by the players to mark their opponents. Here’s how one can do it.

Where to find the Flare Gun in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 WILDS

Flare Guns are not that tough to come across as they have a pretty low level of rarity which makes it easy to find in forms of loot. It doesn’t deal much damage to the opponents so it is used to mark the enemies before they can spot anyone around themselves. Flare Guns can be found in the forms of regular floor loot, inside regular chests, and also in rare chests.

Players can also equip their Tracker’s Armory Reality Augment in order to receive a Flare Gun instantly in the match. They’ll also have to look for Flare Guns more than once in the game if they want to use it multiple times. This is because a Flare Gun has only six flares inside it and can’t be replaced after they’ve all been used up as ammo for flare guns can’t be found as loot anywhere or even in ammo boxes in the whole map.

How to mark opponents using Flare Gun in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 Wilds

Flare Guns have multiple purposes. It can be used to deal damage to nearby structures and players as once a flare hits a barrier, it explodes and starts dealing damage to anyone or anything nearby and also lights things on fire that is flammable in the nearby perimeter of the explosion. The second purpose of Flare Guns is fulfilled by using it to scan the nearby areas for enemies.

Players can do this by shorting the flare in a certain direction and it will start scanning the area for any players it’ll come across and will start marking them till a certain perimeter. After this, the marked players can be easily spotted as they would have a red marker above their heads for a temporary amount of time. This is similar to how the Bloodhound Reality Augment works and if players want to avoid getting marked by Flare Guns, they avoid it by covering up themselves using mud.
