Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 WILDS: Tips to use Mud in the game

Hide from the thermal vision scope!

The new season of Fortnite completely takes a different turn from what it was in the previous season. It goes from a futuristic setting to a more natural and wild setting. New POIs have been added to the map which specifically has more jungle areas that are covered in vines, bushes, trees, and much more things. These locations also have new and unique mechanics which can’t be found in other parts of the maps. One of the new mechanics is that players can get covered in mud but it’s not just for visual effects as getting covered in mud has some actual benefits in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 WILDS and here’s what everyone needs to know about it.

Where to find mud in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 WILDS

Mud can only be found in the jungle biome of the battle royale map. All the new POIs that have been added such as Rumble Ruins, Creeky Compound, and Shady Slits are the best places for people to come across the mud. Mud can be found only in tropical areas such as these so it’s no use to trying to find mud in other POIs which don’t have a jungle.

How to use mud in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 WILDS

One of the new additions in the weapons section of the game is the Thermal DMR. This gun has thermal vision scope which helps players detect opponents and wildlife who can get easily camouflaged in the jungle normally. So one of the reasons players will want to get covered in mud is so that they don’t get captured on the scope of the Thermal DMR as mud prevents the body heat of the player from getting captured.

Another use of mud is that it provides a speed boost to players when they are sliding down hills. There are not many options for mobility in Chapter 4 Season 3 Wilds which is why this can turn out to be a good choice. It’s pretty easy to apply mud on one’s body, all they have to do is either run over the mud or slide while they are on it. This will cause the mud to splash and the players will be covered by it.

The duration for how long the mud stays on the players’ bodies is not infinite as it will disappear by itself after 30 seconds. But if someone wants to make it go away even before that, they can do so by getting into a water body. There are plenty of streams and waterfalls all over the map, even in the jungle POIs so players won’t have a hard time if they are searching for one.
