Genshin Impact with its upcoming version 2.6 update will arrive with much-anticipated Chasm region expansion, which means new areas to explore for rewards along with massive amounts of primogems. This update will also have a new character release in the form of Kamisato Ayato along with the rerun banners for Ayaka and Venti. In order to get these characters, proper management of primogems is crucial. This guide gives the users a rough estimate of how many free primogems any player can obtain if they play all the contents of the Genshin Impact 2.6 update.
How to get free Primogems with Genshin Impact 2.6 update
1. Daily Commission
Each and every patch lasts for exactly 42 days, which means total primogems obtainable by doing commissions in that duration is (42 days x 60) = 2520 Primogems.
2. Battle Pass
The Battle pass has two variant tiers, in which the Sojourner’s Battlepass is the free one and the paid one is Gnostic Hymn. The Sojourner’s Battlepass has Acquaint Fates locked behind every 10th level of the Battle Pass and a max of level 50, which means a total of 5 Acquaint Fates. The Gnostic Hymn battlepass, however, has Intertwined Fates at every 10th level and the 50th level has a reward of 680 primogems.
3. Spiral Abyss
Spiral Abyss has three rotations per patch and a player can obtain a maximum of 1800 in total, depending on their total abyss star clear. The calculation here assumes that players can do a full star clear every rotation, resulting in a gain of 1800 primogems.
Players must deduct the appropriate amount of primogems, if they don’t get a full star clear. Each chamber has a reward of 50 Primogems. In total, every Abyss floor will amount to 150 Primogems.
4. Paimon’s Bargain (Stardust Exchange)
Every month, the Stardust Shop refreshes. In there, players can buy a max of 5 Inter-twined and 5 Acquaint Fates, by using the Stardust currency, which is obtained by making wishes on various banners. Since the 2.6 update will coincide with two monthly resets, players can expect double the usual amount of fates.
5. Update Maintenance and bug compensation
After every version update, miHoYo gives its players a total of 600 primogems. This reward is the maintenance compensation and bug fix compensation of previous or current updates. Sometimes, the maintenance compensation amount may increase, due to delays caused by overdue maintenance hours.
6. Test Runs (Characters)
Every time a limited banner is available, there will be a special Test Run domain to test the said featured character. Clearing this domain will reward players with a total of 20 primogems. Since the upcoming version 2.6 will have 3 featured characters, the total amount will be 3 x 20 = 60 Primogems.
7. Livestream Codes
Each Livestream for a version is accompanied by three separate redeem codes, which when claimed, will give players a total of 300 primogems. The Livestream for the 2.7 Update will occur during the patch duration of 2.6. Therefore, one can keep an eye out for the Livestream and claim the codes as soon as possible, as they only last for a day or two.
8. New Region: Chasm
Chasm is the upcoming region near Liyue. This new region will be full of treasure chests and world quests which will award players with a bountiful of primogems. Chasm has a decent number of time challenges and special challenges, along with hidden quests and complex puzzles.
An early estimate of primogems could amount to anywhere near 500+ primogems for this upcoming region.
9. Upcoming New Events
There should be a total of four events according to version 2.6 Livestream. These events have primogems locked behind certain tasks. Each of them should amount to 420 primogems, resulting in 1680 primogems in total.
10. Achievements
Achievements vary from update to update. But, leaks about Chasm indicate that players should be able to get at least 200+ Primogems from the upcoming version. A lot of those primogems are obtainable by completing hidden achievements.
11. Blessings of Welkin Moon
Welkin Moon is a subtraction-like pack that players can buy for some amount of money. The cost varies from country to country. Once, purchased players will immediately get an amount of 300 Genesis Crystal and a daily income of 90 Primogems every day, after the server resets for that day. This Welkin Moon can be stacked for a maximum of 180 days.
12. HoyoLab App Daily Check-in
There are certain days where there is the reward of 20 primogems. In the span of the total update duration, there will be 4 occurrences of it. So for 42 days, it will account for 80 Primogems.

As per our calculations, the following sums up the chances for F2P Players.
For a free-to-play player
- Normal Primogems = 7740
- Intertwined Fates = 5
- Acquaint Fates = 10
Total Estimation = 7740 Primogems + 10 Intertwined Fates + 15 Acquaint Fates
These Fates in turn result in more Primogems leading to:
- 10 fates + 15 fates = 25 x160 Primogems = 4000
- Total 7740 + 4000 = 11740 Primogems
Therefore as a free-to-play player, so that players can actually get 11740 Primogems for free
For Welkin Moon player
Adding extra 90 Primogems each day, which is 42 x 90 = 3780 primogems.
Total = 11520 Primogems + 10 Intertwined Fates + 15 Acquaint Fates=11520 Primogems
For Battle Pass + Welkin Moon player
Battle pass gives 4 Intertwined Fates + 680 Primogems, so adding them all up.
Total = 12200 Primogems + 14 Intertwined Fates + 15 Acquaint Fates = 16840 Primogems
This is just an estimated calculation and should only be taken as a reference, actual primogems income can vary a lot with this estimated amount.
