Genshin Impact has recently released the new Version 4.0 “As Light Rain falls Without Reason” with a new Version to kick-start off comes with new Abilities for our Main Character. The Hydro Traveler is a 5* Hydro Sword character who has a variety of build options to choose from depending on how you want to build them. They can either be a Support build that provides Hydro Application and other buffs to team-mates, a Hydro Damage dealer, or a Sub-DPS that focuses on an EM build for specific reactions. Here is a complete guide to the Genshin Impact Artifacts Build Hydro Traveler in-game.

Artifact Sets

4-piece: Noblesse ObligeSets to built
Genshin Impact Mika Artifacts Noblesse Oblige

Explanation: The 4-piece Noblesse Oblige set is suitable if you are running the Hydro Traveler as a Support that focuses on providing Hydro application in the team (Bloom comp, Vaporize comp, etc.). It can buff your team’s ATK and can help amplify Hydro Traveler’s Elemental Burst damage. However, if you run this set on the Traveler then you would need enough ER to use your Elemental Burst every rotation. The set is viable if the team does not rely much on the Hydro DMG or already has a DPS on the team.
2-Pieces: Elemental Burst DMG +20%.
4-Pieces: Using an Elemental Burst increases all party members’ ATK by 20% for 12s. This effect cannot stack.
4-piece: Deepwood MemoriesSets to built
Genshin Impact 4 piece Deepwood Memories
Explanation: A non-traditional set to use on Hydro Traveler but it works really well for a Support build. If no one else is utilizing the 4-piece Deepwood set on your team that focuses on dishing out Bloom DMG or any other Hydro-Dendro-related reaction, then this set will be another good option to use on the Hydro Traveler as it shreds the enemy’s Dendro Resistance for more Dendro DMG. Be mindful that the Dendro RES shred only lasts for 8s and may have downtime without the Hydro Traveler swapping in.
2-Pieces: Dendro DMG Bonus +15%.
4-Pieces: After Elemental Skills or Bursts hit opponents, the targets’ Dendro RES will be decreased by 30% for 8s. This effect can be triggered even if the equipping character is not on the field.
4-Piece: Marechaussee HunterSets to built

Genshin Impact Artifacts Build Hydro Traveler

Explanation: One of Hydro Traveler’s BiS Artifact Set if you planning on using them as a Main/Sub-DPS. Hydro Traveler’s main damage will be coming from their Elemental Skill the most where they will deplete their HP for more DMG and also self-heal when HP is running low using the Dewdrops. The 2-piece bonus will help increase their CA DMG by 15% and the 4-piece will increase Traveler’s Crit Rate by 12%/24%/36% depending on the stacks.
2-Piece: Normal and Charged Attack DMG +15%
4-Piece: When current HP increases or decreases, the CRIT Rate will be increased by 12% for 5s. Max 3 stacks.
4-piece: Golden TroupeSets to built

Explanation: Another good Artifact Set alternative option for the Hydro DPS Traveler build. This Artifact set is a perfect one for Traveler as the 2-piece increases their Elemental Skill DMG (which they will be using most frequently), while the 4-piece further boosts the Elemental Skill DMG even if they cannot maintain the off-field bonus despite being an on-field unit.
2-Pieces: Increases Elemental Skill DMG by 20%.
4-Pieces: Increases Elemental Skill DMG by 25%. Additionally, when not on the field, Elemental Skill DMG will be further increased by 25%. This effect will be cleared 2s after taking the field.
4-piece: Glided Dreams

Explanation: This 4-piece set is a general best-in-slot set for a Bloom-focused Hydro Traveler build and is viable if their team composition has characters like Nilou who can proc Bountiful Cores as a result. This set will provide a high amount of EM and a decent quantity of ATK for dishing out more personal DMG from Hydro Traveler in such situational team comps.
2-Pieces: Increases Elemental Mastery by 80.
4-Pieces: Within 8s of triggering an Elemental Reaction, the character equipping this will obtain buffs based on the Elemental Type of the other party members. ATK is increased by 14% for each party member whose Elemental Type is the same as the equipping character, and Elemental Mastery is increased by 50 for every party member with a different Elemental Type. Each of the aforementioned buffs will count up to 3 characters. This effect can be triggered once every 8s. The character who equips this can still trigger its effects when not on the field.
4-piece: Flower of Paradise Lost
Sets to built

Explanation: Another great alternative option for a Bloom-focused team build for the Hydro Traveler. The EM will boost their reaction damage and the 4-piece bonus set will further increase the Bloom reaction damage by 40%.
2-Pieces: Increases Elemental Mastery by 80.
4-Pieces: The equipping character’s Bloom, Hyperbloom, and Burgeon reaction DMG are increased by 40%. Additionally, after the equipping character triggers Bloom, Hyperbloom, or Burgeon, they will gain another 25% bonus to the effect mentioned prior. Each stack of this lasts 10s. Max 4 stacks simultaneously. This effect can only be triggered once per second. The character who equips this can still trigger its effects when not on the field.

Other than the 4-piece bonus options, the Hydro Traveler can equip and use 2-piece bonuses if it gains them the following bonus: Hydro DMG bonus, EM bonus, Energy Recharge Bonus, etc. Mix and match different Artifact sets that cater to your specific needs for your team composition.

Artifact Stats

Before we talk about the priority of Artifact stats, the first thing that should be focused on is how much Energy Recharge is sufficient for Hydro Traveler. Unfortunately for the Hydro Traveler, they have quite a high Elemental Burst cost (80 ER Cost) compared to many of the other playable characters that have been released recently. Despite that being the case, there is of course a certain threshold the Traveler needs to fill in order to dish out frequent and optimal team rotations.

  • Traveler’s ER is important depending on certain team comps and artifact sets you to build onto them. Their kit in general focuses mostly on using their Elemental Skill more frequently than focusing on their Burst. Nevertheless, in cases where you would need to use their Burst is when you are using them as a DPS, need a Hydro applicator, or use Noblesse Oblige for the 4-piece bonus.
  • As such, their target Energy Recharge will vary based on certain factors but generally, around 180% to 200% ER is good for a Burst-reliant build.
  • Go for a full EM build if you are specifically using the Hydro Traveler in a Bloom team.
  • If not, then opt for ATK sands for a DPS build with Hydro DMG Goblet and Crit Circlet.
  • For Support, ER Sands, Hydro DMG, and Crit are the way to go.
