Studies In Light and Shadow: A Fontaine of Enchantment is a photo-taking event in the Genshin Impact Version 4.0 Update. The duration of this event is from the 14th of September, 2023 to the 25th of September, 2023. Once the event has started, a new challenge will be unlocked each day. - Unlock any Statue of The Seven in Fontaine
Starting The Challenges
The event quest can be accessed from the event page. Navigate the quest and talk to Bresson. He will give you the event-specific gadget “Bresson’s Special Kamera” and the challenges can be accessed from the event page.

Click on the “photo-taking spot” button for a challenge and it will navigate the location for you. Go there and equip Bresson’s Special Kamera.
Use Bresson’s special Kamera to record the target object. When you take a photo, if the field of view contains an object you need to record, information related to it will be displayed. Adjust the Kamera distance and zoom to more easily record said objects.
You can take photos of anything that meets the relevant requirements. If you cannot find anything that should be recorded, you can try searching the area Bresson recommended.
The challenges will ask you to photograph multiple kinds of an entity like Xenochromatic Fontemer Aberrants, Clockwork Meka, etc. When you go to the marked location and take and picture, it will mark another location for you to take pictures of a different kind of the same entity. It will be within the marked location, please try to check your surroundings. All of these marked locations will be near teleport waypoints.

Battle Pass Missions
This event added additional This BP Period Battle Pass missions to the Primordial Waters Battle Pass. The Battle Pass EXP (BP EXP) obtained from these missions does not count towards the weekly experience limit of 10,000 BP EXP.
- Photograph the Large Pneumousia Relay Station or Antoine Roger Aircraft during the “Studies in Light and Shadow: A Fontaine of Enchantment” event: 1500 BP EXP.
