Once every 2s, after a Dewdrop hits an opponent, if the Traveler is being protected by Aquacrest Aegis, the DMG Absorption of the Aegis will be restored to 10% of the Traveler’s Max HP. If the Traveler is not presently being protected by an Aegis, one will be redeployed.
C5Churning Whirlpool

Genshin Impact: Constellations breakdown for Hydro Traveler

C1: Swelling Lake

C1 makes the Soucewater Droplets restore Energy to the Hydro Traveler. It is a minor Quality of Life help with Energy Recharge needs assuming players decide on picking up the Droplets in the first place while playing Hydro Traveler.

C2: Trickling Purity

Constellation 2 will enable their Rising Water (which is their Elemental Burst Bubble that shows up) to move a lot slower and increase the duration for 3 more seconds. A potentially decent upgrade for the Hydro Traveler’s overall kit since its longer presence means there will more chances to apply Hydro onto enemies. The slower speed movement would mean that you would have better control of positioning enemies near it.

C3: Turbulent Ripples

This constellation adds three levels to their Elemental Skill, which is the biggest source of their DMG.

C4: Pouring Descent

Constellation 4 makes the Hydro Traveler’s Elemental Skill create a Hydro Shield that scales off of their Max HP. While hitting with the Dewdrops, it can regenerate the Shield every 2 seconds. This helps address Hydro Traveler’s overall problems of being vulnerable to damage and interruption while holding the Elemental Skill. However, it becomes irrelevant naturally if you are already using a Shield character on your team. Additionally, it might not be strong enough to prevent Interruption if the enemy can destroy the Shield and hit the Traveler in quick succession.

C5: Churning Whirlpool

This constellation increases their Elemental Burst level by 3. A decent improvement to increase Burst damage levels.

C6: Tides of Justice

The last Constellation enables the Sourcewater Droplets to restore HP to teammates with the current lowest HP. This enables the Traveler to initiate some team healing utility but the healing percentage will still be relatively low compared to actual dedicated Healers in the game.

Final Thoughts

Since the Hydro Traveler is our main character we can easily obtain their Constellations by doing Archon Quests, exploring and leveling up the Statue of the Seven, etc. As such players do not need to fret about which Constellation to go after or what not as eventually you will be able to unlock them all and reach their C6.

With saying that, from all the Constellations the best one that improves Hydro Traveler’s kit is Constellation 4 where it provides Shielding and helps with getting interrupted. Although overall, the Constellations do not provide any big improvements on their kits.
