“Lonesome Transcendence” Shenhe is an event-exclusive 5* Cryo polearm character released back in Genshin Impact version 2.4. She is a premier Cryo buffer heavily sought after by Cryo DPS characters. Her best team is Ayaka-Shenhe-Kokomi–Kazuha, AKA The Freeze team. It’s one of the most powerful teams in Genshin Impact and dominates where the enemies are freezable. Against unfreeze enemies, another team known as Mono Cryo (Ayaka-Ganyu-Shenhe-Kazuha, and many variants) is extremely effective. Constellations of Shenhe range from ones that buff her DMG to ones that make her a better Cryo buffer in Genshin Impact. This article will go in-depth into her constellations and their pull value.
Genshin Impact: Constellations for Shenhe
Constellation Level | Constellation Effect(s) |
---|---|
C1 Clarity of Heart | Spring Spirit Summoning can be used 1 more time. |

C4 Insight | When characters under the effect of Icy Quill applied by Shenhe trigger its DMG Bonus effects, Shenhe will gain a Skyfrost Mantra stack:- When Shenhe uses Spring Spirit Summoning, she will consume all stacks of Skyfrost Mantra, increasing the DMG of that Spring Spirit Summoning by 5% for each stack consumed.- Max 50 stacks. Stacks last for the 60s. |

Genshin Impact: Constellations breakdown for Shenhe
C1: Clarity of Heart
This constellation allows Shenhe to use her skill twice. The Icy Quills created from two skill casts do not stack, their total count is refreshed. However, it is possible to use the tap version, use the Icy Quills, and use the hold version afterward. This allows her to provide both buffs from her A4 passive. This is because each buff is applied independently and their durations are also independent of each other.
- 4-5% increase in team damage from C0.
C2: Centered Spirit
This is Shenhe’s best constellation in terms of increasing team DMG. Please note that the Cryo Crit DMG buff only applies to the active character inside Shenhe’s burst, so off-field Kaeya and burst support Ganyu will not be able to take advantage of it.
- 14-15% increase in teamwide damage from C0
- 9-10% increase from C1.
C3: Seclusion
Increases elemental skill level by 3, which is a small increase in Shenhe’s personal DMG. The real benefit from this constellation is visible in teams with multiple Cryo characters, for example, Mono Cryo.
- 17-18% increase in teamwide damage from C0.
- 3% increase from C2.
C4: Insight
This is a constellation that only buffs Shenhe’s personal DMG. After she casts her skill, based on the number of times her Icy Quills are triggered, she gains a DMG bonus for the next cast of her skill.
- 18-19% increase in teamwide damage from C0.
- 1% increase from C3.
C5: Divine Attainment
Increases elemental burst level by 3, which only benefits Shenhe’s burst DMG. The RES shred of her burst caps at talent level 10, so talent levels above 10 will only increase her DMG multipliers. Therefore, this constellation is useless in buffing her teammate’s DMG.
- 19-20% increase in teamwide damage from C0.
- 1% increase from C4.
C6: Mystical Abandon
When characters trigger Icy Quill’s effects using Normal and Charged Attack DMG, it does not count toward the Trigger Quota. As long as the character has Icy Quills, they can continue using Normal and Charged Attacks. The Icy Quills will only be consumed by elemental skills and bursts.
This constellation may sound powerful on paper, but there is a problem. Ayaka’s skill can hit multiple enemies and spend all Icy Quills, her burst can consume all Icy Quills within a matter of seconds, and so can Ganyu’s burst. It is difficult to maintain Icy Quills on characters to take advantage of this constellation.
The best way to utilize this constellation is to save Shenhe’s hold skill for the main DPS burst downtime and use it then to use Normal/Charged Attacks. Another way to utilize this constellation is in a Melt Ganyu team where her burst is not used and only her charged shots deal most of the DMG. Teamwide damage increase varies with team and rotations as well as constellations of the DPS characters.
Final Thoughts
Shenhe is not a character who is dependent on her constellations for her to be good. She is a perfectly functional unit just at C0. Free-to-play players should not feel tempted to pull for her constellations at all. But if they choose to do so, C2 is a great stopping point.
As for whales, things are a little different. Shenhe was designed as a character who would allow free-to-plays to enjoy higher DMG without having to work too hard. She is also a character who scales well with the amount of investment in the Cryo main DPS she is buffing. For whales who have multiple constellations on Ayaka or Ganyu, getting Shenhe’s constellations will boost their DMG even further.
