Yaoyao is a new 4-Star Dendro character that has been released in Version 3.4 of Genshin Impact. The game has been releasing an assortment of 4 Stars with a very niche and underwhelming skillset that can only be solved by unlocking their Constellations or using them in a very niche and specific team comps. Yaoyao seems to break the 4-star curse for now, as she has shown to be a very great Dendro unit, without the need for any Constellations. C1: Adeptus’ Tutelage
With C1, characters within the AoE of the White Jade Radishexplosions get a 15% Dendro DMG Bonus buff for 8 seconds and 15 Stamina restored. This will occur every 5 seconds. This constellation is a minor boost that matters a lot if the other Dendro characters in the team can utilize it. Additionally, it also helps with Yaoyao’s own personal damage.
C2: Innocent
Yaoyao’s C2 makes it so that during her Elemental Burst mode, she is able to get 3 Energy every 0.8 seconds, when her White Jade Radishes explosions hit the enemies. This would be her best constellation overall, as it helps reduce her Energy Recharge needs, which allows them to focus more on other stats.
C3: Loyal and Kind
Her C3 increases her Elemental Skill talent level by 3. Therefore, it is not a big boost in her kit overall.
C4: Winsome
Yaoyao’s C4 gives her Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst an Elemental Mastery (EM) buffing utility. As said, her EM is increased by 0.3% of her own HP which maxes out at 120 EM if her HP is at 40,000. Therefore, if players build her with high HP for healing, then a bit of the HP boosts her own Elemental reaction damage.
C5: Compassionate
It increases her Elemental Burst talent level by 3. As said in her C3, it’s not a big boost to her kit unless you build her as a DPS.
C6: Beneficent
Lastly, from her C6 for every White Jade Radish thrown, the Yuegui from her Elemental Skill creates a Mega Radish. It has a larger AoE explosion that can deal higher damage and heal more than the regular Radishes. Although, only 2 Mega Radishes can be created. This constellation overall gives a healing and damage boost and with a larger AoE explosion, it can be easier to apply Dendro on multiple enemies.
Final Thoughts
Yaoyao is one of the rare 4-star units that we have seen for a while, where she works well at Constellation 0. Therefore, players do not need to unlock her Constellations to greatly help with her kit, unlike the previous 4 stars that have been released recently like Faruzan, Candace, Kujou Sara, Gorou etc. Her constellations do not feel necessary and our overall quality of life improves.
From all of her constellations, C2 is a solid point to have her unlocked, as her C1 gives Dendro DMG bonus to herself and her teammates, while her C2 helps her Energy Recharge needs. If players are aiming for a DPS. Having Yaoyao till C6 would be recommended, as C6 helps with her personal damage. Overall, Yaoyao is a solid Dendro unit to have at the party, regardless of the constellations unlocked.
