Gods & Demons is an idle RPG from Com2uS. This game is an engaging idle RPG that combines strategic hero collection, team building, and resource management. Players embark on an adventure while exploring various game modes, an endless challenge for testing team strength. With a diverse cast of heroes, each belonging to a different class. In this Gods & Demons Beginners guide, youāll learn the basics of the gameās overall mechanics and system while we also share some tips on how to navigate the game as a new player.
Gameplay Overview
As the game is an Idle RPG, the main focus in terms of combat is how to properly build and displace your characters during combat. Heroes come in different rarities, with four-star and five-star characters being the most notable. However, not all five-star characters are equal.
Some only have three talents, while the stronger ones possess four talents. It’s important to focus resources on the four-talent five-star heroes, as they offer better long-term value. Lets look at the factions and classes of the Heroes who will accompany your journey. There are factions where each race has its unique traits.

- Human – A versatile and balanced race.
- Orc – Masters of battle, renowned for their powerful warriors
- Spirit – masters of magic
- God – Guardians who protect all beings with holy light
- Demon – Rulers who pursue ultimate power and strength
One of the features that makes Gods & Demons even more exciting is the counters between races. For example, the Orc race prioritizes brute strength, while Spirits focuses on protecting nature, showcasing contrasting combat styles. Therefore, Orcs who are assault-oriented excel against the magic and support-focused spirits. Additionally, placing multiple Heroes from the same race on your team grants stat bonuses.Ā
Gods & Demons Basics
Classes
Each hero has one of four classes, playing a vital role in battle.Ā

- Assault – Deals powerful single-target or AoE damage.
- Tank– shields allies with high defense, blocking enemy attacks in the front row.Ā
- Magic – deals significant AoE magic damage and applies debuffs from the rear row.Ā
- Support – enhances team stability with healing and unique buffs.
For new players, investing in three-talent five-star heroes is acceptable in the early game since they can be rebirthed later. Rebirthing resets a heroās level to one while refunding all invested resources, allowing players to transition to stronger heroes without major losses.
Formation and Positioning
The game offers various formation setups, with more unlocking at Level 40. Proper hero placement is key to maximizing effectiveness. If the enemy specializes in attacking the back row, players should avoid placing their damage dealers in vulnerable positions. Adjusting formations based on the enemy’s attack patterns can significantly improve survivability and damage output.
Ascension Hall
In Ascension Hall, lower-star rating Heroes can be ascended to higher-star rating Heroes of the same name by consuming materials. Heroes starting at 4* can be ascended to 5*, and those starting at 5* can be ascended to 6*. The first slot is for the main Hero to be ascended.
The ascended Hero inherits all the main Hero’s states; the other slots are for material Heroes that will be consumed during the ascension. After a successful ascension, all materials consumed in developing the Hero will be returned, including Gold Coins, Hero EXP, and Advancement Stones.
Equipment Synthesis

Equipment Synthesis allows you to merge lower-tier, lower-star-rating Equipment into higher-tier, higher-star-rating Equipment by spending Gold Coins. Quick Synthesis automatically combines higher-tier, higher-star rating Equipment from available materials in your inventory. Ā If you don’t have enough Gold Coins during Quick Synthesis, only part of the Equipment will be synthesized.
Hero Altar
Heroes will cease to exist in your roster after dismantling. Dismantling 2* or lower Heroes will give EXP Potions and Advancement Stones. Dismissing 3 or higher Heroes will additionally reward Soul’s Wings. After dismantling, all cultivation resources will be returned, and equipment on the Hero will be automatically unequipped.
Soul’s Wings are used to purchase specific items in the shop. Quick Selection allows you to choose 3* and below Heroes, with a maximum of 15 Heroes per dismantle. The Quick Dismantle function unlocks at Lv. 60. This allows you to quickly dismantle all 3* and below Heroes, but each faction’s 3* Heroes will retain 10 (or all, if fewer than 10). Only 5 and below Heroes can be dismantled.
Hero Summons
New players are guaranteed to receive the 5* Demon Hunter within their first 10 summons. The higher the number of summons, the higher the priority. For example, the guaranteed reward for every 20 summons takes precedence over the reward for every 10 summons.

When summoning heroes, gold-colored summons indicate five-star characters. However, not all five stars are created equal, some have only three talents, while the strongest have four. A good summoning strategy is to accumulate summoning tickets through strategic diamond spending rather than using diamonds directly for pulls.
Limited-Time Summon
After selecting the UP Hero, the probability of summoning the UP Hero increases with each summon based on the total number of summons. The total number of summons without summoning the UP Hero affects the probability of summoning the UP Hero.
Summoning the UP Hero resets the summon probability counter. If the UP Hero is not summoned and the UP Hero is changed during the event period, this change will not affect the counter. The specified probabilities are rounded to the fourth decimal place, so the total probability may not always add up to 100%.
Ishir Temple
Obtaining an epic or higher Hero for the first time, or ascending a Hero of epic or higher, will both yield the Light of Ishir. The Light of Ishir is used to upgrade the Ishir Temple, thereby providing stat bonuses to all Heroes.

The Flowers of Ishir are used to make a wish for the Goddess in the Ishir Temple, further enhancing the basic stats of all Heroes. As the level of the Ishir Temple increases, the prayer limit of the Flowers of Ishir will also gradually increase.
Arena
In the Arena, you can receive corresponding weekly challenge rewards based on the number of challenges each week. The challenge count chests reset at 7:00 AM PST / 8:00 AM PDT every Sunday. Daily rewards are settled at 4:00 AM PST/ 5:00 AM PDT based on the day’s Points Ranking and sent via mail.

Weekly season ranking rewards are settled at 4:00 AM PST / 5:00 AM PDT every Sunday. Each challenge consumes 1 Arena Challenge Ticket. You get 3 free challenge opportunities daily, and they reset at 7:00 AM PST / 8:00 AM PDT. Points are awarded for victories in challenges, while points are deducted for defeats. Players can adjust their defense lineup in the lineup defense interface. The battle record logs the last 10 battles.
