  • Write your very first book and enjoy Dream Goal rewards, and let other players read your book.

Building a life in Heartopia is not just about decorating your home or leveling up hobbies. Instead, the game encourages you to slow down, express yourself, and connect with other players in meaningful ways. One of the most creative systems that supports this idea is Book Writing.

Through book writing, you can tell stories, document memories, create guides, or even publish a photo album of your pets. More importantly, this system blends creativity with progression, allowing your imagination to directly influence your Dream Goals, rewards, and social interactions.

Whether you want to publish a single book for fun or work toward becoming a Master writer, this Heartopia Book Writing Guide breaks down everything you need to know. Also, read our Heartopia Beginners Guide, co-op guide, Heartopia Hobbies Guide, tips on unlocking Home Plots, and Heartopia Gold Guide for a smooth start. How To Unlock Book Writing in Heartopia

Before you can start writing, Heartopia requires you to reach a specific point in your journey. First, you must reach Developer’s Guild Level 16. Once you hit this milestone, Book Writing becomes available as a Dream Goal. At this stage, the game introduces you to book writing through a short questline.

Next, you will need to speak with Annie, who helps guide you toward the feature. After that, you will progress through quests involving Mrs. Joan, who formally introduces the idea of publishing your own books.

Eventually, these quests lead you to Ka Ching’s General Store, where you can purchase your very first Writing Desk. This desk is essential, as it acts as your main tool for creating, editing, and publishing books.

Once the desk is in your inventory, place it inside your home. From there, simply interact with it to open the writing interface. At that point, Book Writing becomes a permanent hobby you can return to at any time.

How To Write and Publish Books in Heartopia

Once you sit down at your writing desk, Heartopia gives you surprising freedom. The system feels flexible, intuitive, and intentionally designed to support creativity rather than restrict it.

Creating a Manuscript

To begin, open the Creation menu on the in-game computer and tap the plus icon. This action starts a new book project. From there, you will:

  • Enter a title for your book.
  • Confirm the title to access the writing menu.

Immediately, you can begin structuring your book. You can create multiple chapters, and each chapter supports up to 4,500 words. This generous limit makes it possible to write anything from short guides to full-length novels.

Formatting and Editing Tools

To help polish your work, Heartopia provides several formatting options. Using the settings icon, you can adjust:

  • First-line indentation
  • Paragraph spacing

In addition, the interface allows you to copy, paste, and rearrange text easily. As a result, refining your manuscript never feels tedious. At the bottom of the screen, you will also find the option to insert images from your album. While images are not mandatory, adding them can significantly improve your book’s appeal.

In fact, inserting any image is also tied to a Dream Goal, making it doubly useful. So if you want your book to stand out, consider taking specific photos just for your project. That said, just filling your book with words still works perfectly and publishes without restrictions.

Publishing Your Book

Once your manuscript feels complete, open the book tab and press the global icon to access the publishing menu. At this stage, you will finalize several important details:

  • A tagline for your book
  • A short description limited to 100 characters
  • A publication date, which can be either real-world or in-game

Publishing a book requires one Book Publishing Permit. After completing the initial questline, you receive ten permits for free. Later, you can purchase additional permits for 10 Moonlight Crystals each. Also, make sure to customize your book cover before publishing.

List of Dream Writing Goals in Heartopia

Book Writing Dream Goals revolves heavily around the community in Heartopia. While writing and publishing books matter, progress truly accelerates when other players engage with your work. So to increase interaction:

  • Give copies of your book to friends.
  • Place books around your home for easy access.
  • Use eye-catching covers and images.
