Pokémon Go: Best Moveset and Counters for Mega Blastoise

Guide for the best counters against Mega Blastoise during Battle Raids!

With this guide on best raid counters, you can be fully equipped to take on this hard-shelled monster even as a team of two. Here’s our Pokémon Go guide to tell you the best raid counters for Mega Blastoise.

Though this is a Mega Pokémon, it is a pure Water-type and that makes it highly vulnerable to Grass and Electric-type movesets. So if you have strong Shadow Electric types along with some Grass heavy-hitters like Tangrowth, you should be good to go. Go into Battle Raids against Mega Blastoise in Clear or Rainy weather, for a 20% increase in damage. This can be of great help if your Pokémon are not strong enough.

Mega Blastoise Movesets

Being a Water-type, it is susceptible to Grass and Electric attacks. It has two very strong moves: Water Gun and Hydro Cannon. These two combined have the highest total DPS and are very useful even in even PvP battles. The two strong cannons on its back are a very strong weapon, but going in as a team of 5-7 with the best-suited Pokémon is more than enough to successfully finish a Mega Blastoise Battle Raid.

The shadow Pokémon have not been included in this list due to their high cost to build but if you do have one that you think is perfect for the Raid then go ahead and max it out. It might take some time and resources to do so as the shadow variants of any Pokémon are way too expensive to level up compared to the normal variants. Watch out for Ice Beam if you’re going into battle with a Grass-type as that move is strong and can take down your Pokémon in one hit.
