Pokémon GO: Best Movesets and Counters for Quilava

Quilava is the evolved form of Fire-type starter of the Johto Region, Cyndaquil. Quilava has come as a 3-Star Shadow Raid Boss as part of the Rising Shadows Event. Quilava is a pure Fire-type Pokemon. The best counters for Quilava have Ground, Rock, and Water-type moves. In this Pokémon GO guide, we are going to talk about the best ways and counters using which one can fight Quilava in the best way possible.

Quilava in Pokémon GO

Quilava is a Volcano Pokemon. It repels enemies with the ferocity of its flames and bursts of extremely hot air. This Pokemon uses its exceptional dexterity to deflect blows while igniting its adversary with flames.

One way to tell Cyndaquil from Quilava in a fight is that although Quilava has a flame on his back and on the back of his head, Cyndaquil just has a flame on its back. A powerful Fire-type Pokemon having the Community Day special move Blast Burn is Typhosion, the last evolution of Cynadaquil.

Quilava Movesets

The best moves from the moveset of Croconaw are Tackle and Flamethrower. Both of them have a combined DPS of 8.40 and it is also the best combination of moves that can be used in Pokémon Gyms and PvP battles.

Rage Mode

The 3-Star and 5-Star Shadow Raid bosses can only be found in Rage Mode. The Raid Boss enters Anger Mode when their health drops to roughly 50%. The Raid Boss’ attack is increased by 80% and defense by 200% in this setting. Purified Gems have been added by the game as a defense against the Raged Raid Bosses. Trainers can create Purity Gems with 4 Shadow Shards and Professor Willow’s latest Shard Refiner innovation.

The Raid Bosses’ attack and defense increase is reduced by utilizing Purified Gems. Several Purity Gems can be used simultaneously by Trainers and their raid partners. When sufficient amounts of Purified Gems have been expended, the Raid Boss will revert to its initial state. The raid boss also reverts to its former state when its Health reaches roughly 15%.

Using the Purified Gems would really be helpful when the Shadow Raid Boss becomes Enraged.
