Rocket League Sideswipe Best Settings Guide and Tips

Play your game with the best settings possible!

Rocket League Sideswipe has already broken the gaming industry with the craze that it has generated in the first week itself. We want all Rocket League fans to have the smoothest in-game experience so that they can quickly rise up the ranks and at the same time, enjoy the game in the true sense of the term. So, here we have the Rocket League Sideswipe Best Settings guide to help the players to excel in their gameplay. Even minute changes in settings can take your gaming experience to new heights.

Best Gameplay Settings in Rocket League Sideswipe

1. Enable the Jump-Boost Button

When you launch the game for the first time, it takes you through a quick 5 minute tutorial to get used to the controls. You will find two action buttons along with a joystick on your game screen. The 2 action buttons are Jump and boost. While making some sick ground-to-air dribbles you might have to use both the action buttons together which may be complicated. But you can use a 3rd alternative button that will cater to the functionality of both things. Here’s how you can do that.

  • Launch the game and tap on the settings icon present at the top right corner of the menu screen.
  • Choose Game settings and tap on Configure Control Customization. You will now see a 3rd  action button, the Boosted Jump Button. Tap on it.

  • Set the Opacity bar to 100% by moving the slider. Opacity bar is a measure of visibility of the button, so set that to full.
  • The Scale Bar, just above the Opacity Bar, denotes the size of the button. We recommend keeping the slider around 50% and not increasing it further.

  • Once the adjustments are done, tap on the check-box beside Enabled to save the changes.

The Boosted Jump button comes real handy in the game and we highly recommend you to get it enabled once you launch the game. You can swap the buttons and place them as per your preference by tapping on the intended button and dragging it to the desired position.

2. Configuring the Camera

Heading back to Game Settings now, next up is the Camera Configuration. It should be set to always defend right by default. Leave that unchanged since it won’t matter much in the context of the game. Also, it just determines on which side your teams’ goal will be, that is on which end you have to defend. You may even set that to No Preference as per your use.

3. Choosing the ideal Joystick

Just as we suggested for the buttons, set the joystick size to Medium(50%). A larger joystick would occupy unnecessary screen space. Joystick Anchor determines how much the joystick can move from the center. Keep that at default or medium.

Moreover, we would suggest you play with a Moveable Joystick. A locked joystick will be centered at the initial center position. A moveable one is more convenient since you can flexibly move your hand anywhere on the screen while pressing the joystick and it follows you.

Best settings for players in Rocket League Sideswipe

Network

Set the network input buffer ideally to moderate. In case you face any in-game glitch, increase it further. However setting the Network Input Buffer high may sometimes result in your in-game touch controls getting sluggish and non-responsive. In that case you have to lower the Network Input Buffer. We suggest you to ideally set it to Moderate.

Furthermore, you have to enable Network Statistics by tapping on the check-box beside it. This would display the network statistics while you are in-game.

Audio

Switch to the audio settings page by tapping on the Audio tab below. Up next, you have to set the gameplay volume and music volume as per your preference. We would recommend you to keep them at default 100% for the best experience. Also, keep the music always on, because the game has a really cool playlist to hear. Keep the auto-update listening mode turned on. We would suggest you use earphones for the best experience.

Graphics

Finally, we head to the Graphics settings for which we need to go to the Graphics Tab. Set the Quality Presets to High to enjoy enhanced visuals. Set the Max FPS to default 30. Do not tamper with the frame rate. Also, do not forget to keep the Reduce FPS in the menu box checked to save the device battery.

Enable Use of High-Quality Grass during Gameplay by checking the box, besides that option. This would take the in-game graphics to a new high. Enabling this would consume more data though.

Give these settings a try and if you are finding trouble, you can refer to this Rocket League Sideswipe best settings guide at any time to learn all about the new settings and sensitivities present in the game.
