Sonic Rumble Rings Guide and how to get them

Long live the F2P approach!

Sonic Rumble is a new party royale title from SEGA and Rovio, which consists of a variety of in-game currencies, with Rings and Red Star Rings being the more important ones. The latter is the only premium currency that you can buy with your real money. However, in this guide, I’ll show you how to collect these Rings and Red Star Rings for free!

How to get Rings in Sonic Rumble

You can use both Rings and Red Star Rings for a variety of purposes in the game, like obtaining your favorite characters and their skin, and more.

While Rings are free, you’ve to purchase Red Star Rings. However, if you are like me and prefer a free-to-play approach, then don’t worry, I will show you how you can still obtain both Rings and Red Star Rings for free without spending a penny.

1. Events and Special Missions

You can obtain a solid amount of Rings and Red Star Rings from events and special missions. The game brings various exclusive events from time to time, making it easier for you to collect these currencies, along with other rewards.

You can take part in events like the Sonic 3 Crossover Event, Season’s Greetings 2025 Event, and more, and obtain Rings, Icons, Effects, and such from Missions and Event Pass. And for the Red Star Rings, you can clear the Milestone Missions to collect 300 Red Star Rings.

2. Emblem Rank Rewards

Next, we’ve the Emblem Rank Rewards, where you can collect Emblems to increase your Emblem Rank and then earn a variety of rewards, including the Rings and Red Star Rings. And, you get Emblems and Emblem Fragments based on your battle results.

3. Achievements

You can also earn a decent amount of Red Star Rings from the Achievements section. For instance, by logging in for a certain number of days, you can get 5 Red Star Rings each, or you can get 10 Red Star Rings by placing within the Top 3 in Ring Survival Mode 25 times.

4. Dr. Eggman’s Challenge

And, make sure to complete Dr. Eggman’s Challenge to obtain a total of 7000 Rings, along with 1 Sea Captain Sonic Fragment. This one rotates periodically, so you don’t have to worry about missing it.

5. Play Regularly

One of the easiest ways to farm Rings is by simply playing the game a lot. After every match, you earn a ton of Rings based on your placement and how many you could collect during each stage. So, if you grind a bit, you can collect them easily.

6. Ads

While Ads can be irritating, they can also act as a blessing, especially when you’re farming currencies. So, after your match is over, you can opt to watch an Ad for extra Rings.

Where to spend your Rings and Red Star Rings in Sonic Rumble

So, you can use both Rings and Red Star Rings to get a variety of items in-game, which are as follows:

  • Firstly, you can use your Rings to buy Characters, Skins, Effects, and Stickers from the Starter Shop. As you complete the first set, more options will appear.
  • Next, you can use your Red Star Rings to obtain high rarity Characters and Skins from the Shop, for more Score Bonuses, and just to flex, obviously.
