Tides: A Fishing Game Beginners Guide – Tips and Tricks

As the title is a relaxing one, but some players just want to dig deeper to take the juice out of the game. So, we are here with a basic guide to help players growing faster.

1. Build the job board

The job board is where players will find the biggest rewards. The game does not provide the job board from the beginning rather players have to make some upgrades. Players will see pop-up in-game notice to build a job board at a little right from the totem towers.

The board will show three jobs at a time and each job is available for 24 hours. Not only do they reward gold coins, but pearls can also be claimed upon completing some jobs. A new job will take the place within 5 minutes after completing one. However, the board shows different jobs every 24 hours. Complete them to grow your island quickly.

2. Complete the goals

Goals are shown from the very beginning of the game in the tiki mask menu on the top left corner. Each goal features a decent amount of gold, pearls, or even bones, and the list never ends. The objectives are generally easy to complete and players may earn a good amount from them.

The usual activities are enough to complete the goals. Don’t forget to collect the rewards immediately because without claiming them, a new goal won’t get the room to appear. Players can upgrade and buy premium items with rewards, especially pearls, from the completed missions.

3. Claim the Catch Bonus

The catch bonus is available when players will catch any particular fish five times. The number increases more after completing each milestone. For example, the average value of a Tiger Shark is 20, but catching five of them will reward 200 gold coins along with the fish’s normal value.

Then the milestone will be set to catch 10 and will continue. The progress with each fish is saved on the compendium. Tap the book icon from the bottom menu bar to open the compendium.

4. Unlock new boats and upgrade them

Boats are useful because of their speed, turning ability. But the most useful feature a vessel offer is its inventory capacity. Raft, the first boat that players start with, can keep only four fish at a time. Upgrading a boat will help any player to catch the best fish more efficiently.

To unlock each boat, players have to collect boat cards which can be found from the black-haired girl standing in front of the shop at the right end of the home island. Unlock and upgrade them to increase the inventory capacity and catch more fish in each expedition.

5. A Fishing Partner is always useful

Players may take a rest after some big catches, or stay idle after coming back from a long and tiring expedition. But their fishing partner is always active and will serve for eternity! Though they are costly to unlock, worth having them. A helping hand is not bad after all! They will fill your pocket by earning gold coins even if you’re not in the game.

6. Know the Fishes well

It is important to know the fish. There are plenty of them and will be available to catch after setting up a totem to unlock new maps. Each fish comes with a different value like a Tiger shark has an average value of 20 where a Pinfish of a spotted seatrout has only 5 gold coins as their value. If the mission to catch each type of fish is completed, then make sure to go for the big catch only.
