UCL Fantasy 2021/22 Matchday 2 Watchlist: 5 players to watch out for

5 players to transfer in for the next Matchday!

The first matchday has pretty much shown why UEFA Champions League is always seen in high regard. The surprise win and continuation of their fairy-tale run by Sherrif Tiraspol, the heavyweight clashes between Barcelona- Bayern Munich, Liverpool – AC Milan were the main attractions. We had some expected points delivered by many fantasy assets, however, some failed to deliver according to expectations. No matter what the 1st match day’s points were, fantasy managers need to move on to the 2nd matchday of European football. All the managers are trying to stabilize their teams with suitable options before the price hikes. In this UCL Fantasy 2021/22 Matchday 2 Watchlist, we will be looking at 5 players, who could become future transfer targets, carrying their good run

UCL Fantasy 2021/22 Matchday 2 Watchlist

1. Sébastien Haller (Forward) – 8.5 million

Probably the name many fantasy managers would have in their minds going into this matchday. For obvious reasons, the Ajax center-forward might take place in the squad of many managers. The Ivorian scored 4 goals in the last group stage game, against Sporting CP, in which he bagged 21 fantasy points. In the matchday 1 game against Sporting, Haller had 5 shots, with 4 on target, which turned into goals. Haller has an xG of 4.61 until now, which is pretty impressive, and the game against Besiktas would be the one fantasy managers should give Haller a try.

Not only does Haller’s individual stats tempt us to let him in our teams, but also, the Ajax side who have scored 22 goals in 5 league games so far are currently in top form, with Haller as their main man. In the domestic league, he averages 3.8 shots on goal, with 2.0 on target.

2. Erling Haaland (Forward) – 11.0 million

Who else would be a more obvious choice in the fantasy team but Erling Haaland? The Norwegian goalscoring machine already has 7 goals and 3 assists in the Bundesliga for his team. Haaland scored in the first UCL game against Besiktas and managed to bag 7 fantasy points.

His next opponent is Sporting CP, who conceded 5 goals in their last UCL game against Ajax. It is obvious that Sporting’s visit to Signal Iduna Park won’t be a walk in the park, especially with Haaland playing. Haaland with an xG of 4.81, and a 3.91 non-penalty xG, has a high probability of scoring in such a fixture. Needless to say, Haaland is an excellent captaincy choice for the matchday.

Note: Haaland was out for Dortmund’s match against Mönchengladbach due to a muscular injury. So stay aware of Marco Rose’s final press conference about his updates before their match this Tuesday.

3. Robert Lewandowski (Forward) – 11.5 million

The European Golden Boot winner of the previous season is upon running yet again and scored a brace against Barcelona in the 1st UCL game of the season, in which he bagged 13 points for his fantasy owners. Besides, domestically he has 7 goals in 5 games and an astounding 5 shots per game with an average of 2.8 shots on target.

In other words, there aren’t many better options than Lewandowski to have in your forward line. Also, in case your 1st day’s captain fails to perform, hand over the arm-band to Robert Lewandowski, who will face Dynamo Kyiv up next.

4. Mohamed Salah (Midfielder) – 10.5 million

One player in top form at the moment is the Egyptian from Liverpool. He already has 5 goals in 6 games so far this season along with 2 assists. The guy is an FPL legend already and is establishing himself as the same in UCL fantasy as well. He was the 3rd highest UCL fantasy points collector last season, despite being knocked out in the quarterfinals.

UCL Fantasy 2021/22 matchday 2 Watchlist: Salah

This matchday Liverpool will face FC Porto, against whom Salah has scored in consecutive years in knockout stages a few years back. With the form he is in, fantasy managers should expect him to return a good amount of UCL fantasy points

5. Joshua Kimmich (Defender) – 6.5 million

A hugely unpopular name on this list, the German midfielder is listed as a defender in UCL fantasy. With relatively easier fixtures ahead, Bayern defenders should be worth considering in your fantasy squads. Kimmich has provided 2.6 key passes per game so far in Bundesliga. He also has 1.2 shots per game.

Statistically, he creates at least 1 big chance per game. The German already has 5 combined goals and assists in the Bundesliga, and as it was said, considering Bayern’s next four fixtures, he is the best defender to be considered among all the UCL teams.
