How to unlock all weapons in Where Winds Meet
At the time of writing, Where Winds Meet features twelve weapons spread across swords, spears, fans, umbrellas, blades, and rope-based weapons. Unlocking them typically falls into three main methods:
- Unlocked by default at the start of the game.
- Skill Theft missions that requires stealth and observation.
- Joining Sects or selecting a weapon during your first Oddity submission to Qi Sheng.
The good news is that you can unlock every weapon in a single playthrough. And even better, once you learn a Martial Art, you keep it permanently, even after leaving the Sect. So below, we’ll walk through each weapon one by one.
1. How to unlock Nameless Sword and Nameless Spear
The Nameless Sword and Nameless Spear are the starting weapons of your journey in Where Winds Meet. And both Martial Arts are unlocked by default at the beginning of the game, requiring no quests, infiltration, or special conditions.
2. How to unlock Panacea Fan
The Panacea Fan is a Heal weapon to unlock early, especially for players who enjoy survivability or co-op content. And you can unlock the Panacea Fan in two ways. The first method is to choose it when submitting your first Oddity to Qi Sheng.
Alternatively, you can unlock the Panacea Fan by joining the Silver Needle Sect, which teaches this Martial Art automatically upon joining. Regardless of how you obtain it, the Panacea Fan is a good support weapon that remains useful well into late-game content.
3. How to unlock Soulshade Umbrella
The Soulshade Umbrella is another Heal weapon that focuses on healing, support, and battlefield control. To unlock it via Skill Theft, travel to Mistveil Forest in eastern Kaifeng. Near a post station, you’ll find a building with an open entrance. Inside, a hidden path leads downward to a ladder where an umbrella master resides.
Successfully infiltrating this area and completing the Skill Theft observation will grant you the Soulshade Umbrella Martial Art. Also, you can unlock Soulshade Umbrella by selecting it from Qi Sheng during your first Oddity submission or by joining its associated Sect, depending on your progression choices.
4. How to unlock Strategic Sword
The Strategic Sword is a Melee-DPS weapon with bleed, and it is unlocked primarily through Skill Theft. And to obtain it, you must infiltrate the Strategic Sword Sanctum located near Encircling Lake in southern Qinghe.
This stealth-based mission requires careful movement and observation. Once inside, watch the master perform the technique and press the interaction prompt whenever the observation ring turns gold. After completing the Skill Theft, the Strategic Sword Martial Art becomes permanently available.
5. How to unlock Infernal Twinblades
The Infernal Twinblades is a Melee DPS weapon designed for aggressive players who thrive on speed and relentless offense. And there are three ways to unlock them. You can select Infernal Twinblades when submitting your first Oddity to Qi Sheng.
Alternatively, you can perform Skill Theft at the Midnight Mercy Sanctum, located in the eastern part of Crimson Cliff in Qinghe. Lastly, joining the Midnight Blades Sect instantly unlocks the Infernal Twinblades without the need for stealth missions.
6. How to unlock Thundercry Blade
The Thundercry Blade is a slow, heavy-hitting weapon built for Tanks. And you can unlock it in three ways. First, you may choose Thundercry Blade from Qi Sheng during your first Oddity submission.
Second, you can infiltrate the Well of Heaven Martial Camp, located near Peace Bell Tower in the Moonveil Mountains of Qinghe, and complete the Skill Theft mission there. And third, joining the Well of Heaven Sect will immediately grant you access to this Martial Art.
7. How to unlock Heavenquaker Spear
The Heavenquaker Spear is a Melee DPS spear weapon. To unlock it through Skill Theft, infiltrate the Heavenquaker Spear Sanctum, located in Wildmane Ranch in Sundara Land, northeast of Qinghe. Observing the master’s spear combos is required to complete the theft.
Also, you can unlock Heavenquaker Spear instantly by joining the Raging Tides Sect, which specializes in spear-based Martial Arts.
8. How to unlock Vernal Umbrella
The Vernal Umbrella is a Ranged DPS weapon. If you don’t choose it from Qi Sheng early on, you’ll need to unlock it through a special investigation quest in Kaifeng City’s Time Tower. Unlike most Skill Theft missions, this one requires gathering five clues from various NPCs, including a tabby cat, two pairs of women, and a warehouse guard.
Once you make the correct deductions and obtain the warehouse key, you gain access to the banquet room containing the Martial Art. And you can also unlock Vernal Umbrella by joining its associated Sect, bypassing the investigation entirely.
9. How to unlock Mortal Rope Dart
The Mortal Rope Dart is another Melee DPS weapon. And to unlock it, you must infiltrate the Nine Mortal Ways Martial Hall in Kaifeng City. The front entrance is guarded, but an NPC will teach you how to infiltrate using disguises.
After speaking with Wuyan at Lin’s Cosmetics and completing her request, you’ll gain the ability to craft disguises and access the hall. Completing the Skill Theft inside unlocks the Mortal Rope Dart. But you can just join the Nine Mortal Ways Sect to get immediate access to this Martial Art.
10. How to unlock Inkwell Fan
The Inkwell Fan is a Ranged DPS weapon. And you can unlock it via Skill Theft at the Inkwell Fan Sanctum, located in the Floral Expanse Beyond in northern Sundara Land, Qinghe.
While the area appears peaceful, stealth becomes necessary once inside the sanctum. Also, joining the Silver Needle Sect unlocks the Inkwell Fan instantly.
11. How to unlock Stormbreaker Spear
The Stormbreaker Spear is a tank-focused weapon. And you can unlock it by infiltrating the Silver Needle Sanctum and performing Skill Theft. Also, joining the Raging Tides Sect also unlocks Stormbreaker Spear immediately.
