Story Highlights
  • The DIGIMON Card Game project can possibly following a format similar to Pokémon TCG Pocket.
  • DIGIMON ALYSION is an upcoming trading card game currently in development.

Bandai Namco Entertainment has announced a new DIGIMON Card Game titled DIGIMON ALYSION, at the DIGIMON CON on March 19, 2025. The game will be possibly similar to Pokémon TCG Pocket, and while there isn’t much information yet, DIGIMON ALYSION is currently in development for mobile platforms.

We can expect DIGIMON ALYSION to follow a similar approach to Pokémon TCG Pocket

If you are unfamiliar with DIGIMON or Digital Monsters, which is pretty unlikely, it is a popular Japanese media franchise centered around a series of digital creatures living in a virtual world. The franchise spans anime, manga, toys, video games, and more. In 2020, Bandai Namco launched a new DIGIMON Card Game, expanding to the TCG scene.

Recently, the devs have shared a teaser video on X showcasing the gameplay. We could see some snippets from it, online battles and although it is in Japanese, you could also see a timer there, meaning time-based battles can be expected.

Given the massive success of Pokémon TCG Pocket, which has already surpassed 100M downloads since launch, $200 million in revenue in its debut month, and more, it’s highly likely Digimon is aiming to make a similar impact on the mobile market.

At this stage, not enough details about the new project are available, but more details are expected to follow soon. However, it will be mobile exclusive, and free-to-play with in-app purchases. Keep an eye on the official website for more details.
